I had checked stubhub and I could only see pairs. I have since bought him a ticket from a different site where you can buy singles

My friend is looking for a seat for the show tomorrow. He doesn't have phone/internet access so I'm going to buy him a seat from stubhub/secondary market.
You need to buy them in pairs so if anyone needs a seat let me know.

Maybe I misunderstand, but why not just buy a single on Stubhub? Plenty of singles on there.
