Here we go again with this new little gem straight from my friend Mister FREEZER' vault.
I wanted to share it earlier but I had no time to finish the modest artwork.
Today, it's about his favorite tour, the Fabulous Tour Of The Americas 1975. I must admit that I like this tour too!

What have we got? Here is the info I got from our generous good vibes provider:

Rolling Stones
San Francisco, CA
Cow Palace
1975-06-16

"2nd generation cassette > playback on JVC TD-W209 cassette deck > JVC XL-R5010 standalone > maxell audio cdr (0) > your CDR "

THIS IS NOT A FREEZER RECORDING! HE DIDN'T TAPE IT HIMSELF.

"In each case, the same source was used for bootlegs, BUT these are lower generation copies than what the bootleggers previously used....also, these versions have NO heavy handed equilization as the previous bootlegs have, as the previous bootlegs feature in abundance...I'm sure they'll be scarfed up for yet another bootleg release within a few weeks of being shared at TTD....."

So in the lineage you will have to add:
>Macbook HD via Itunes>flac via XAct>TTD>YOU

This is the same source as the usual circulating boots but with a know lineage and LOW gen!
Same flaws, the taper must have pushed the "Stop" button between some songs to save the tape...
There are some SSSSSHHHHHHHH here and there too. Anyway, it's as I got it from Freezer.

GET A LONG DRINK, SIT BACK IN YOUR SOFA (OR JUMP AND DANCE AROUND) TURN THE VOLUME WAAAAAAAAY UP AND... ENJOY!!!

Next will be Chicago 78

Stay tuned!

Setlist:

Disc 1
01 intro
02 Honky Tonk Woman
03 All Down The Line
04 If You Can't Rock Me Get Off Of My Cloud
05 @#$%&
06 Gimme Shelter
07 Ain't Too Proud To Beg
08 You Gotta Move
09 You Cant Always Get What You Want
10 Happy
11 Tumbling Dice
12 It's Only Rock' n' Roll

Disc 2
01 band intro
02 Fingerprint File
03 Wild Horses
04 Thats Life (cut in)
05 Nothing From Nothing
06 Brown Sugar
07 Midnight Rambler
08 Rip This Joint
09 Street Fighting Man
10 Jumpin Jack Flash

Traders Den 1/30/15

Transferred, Channels Balanced and Tracked by George [kingrue Upload 395]

I compared 2 different Vinyl LP sets to my FM cassette.
The "Smilin Dork" release. I can clearly tell that the vinyl transfer sounds a hair flat. Which caused it to run nearly 2 minutes longer. I find that the FM plays at a perfect pitch.

The other vinyl source called "Garden State 78" A Vinyl Gang Product (VGP-253)
I found had multiple dropouts in the Vinyl's left channel that isn't on the FM tape.

The only real advantage of the LP sources, is that they have less crowd cheer in the mix, they sound more like actual Soundboard recordings. where as my FM broadcast has more crowd cheer in the mix,

But the radio amplified the music so it also brought the music more upfront.

The radio broadcast is a totally different mix and listening experience.

Funny comment at the beginning of "Far Away Eyes", Mick Jagger says:

"Maybe we do a country song and New Jersey's a country ain't it".

I don't think this FM broadcast has been circulated that much, at least this tape never has, until now.

Really?
I think it sounds inferior to the VGP I have and this tape runs much much too fast.

I've compared and compared...smilin dork is superior.
It's fuller and has better stereo separation...

This FM source is shrill and tinny...

Well, I'm comparing the FM to the smiling dork version and on the FM version the guitars seem more forward in the mix to me. I'm listening on my laptop though. I haven't compared to the VGP version yet.

Imho the VGP (though from a vinyl) sounds fuller and more natural.
What bugs me most is the FM version is completely off speed-wise.

You're probably right about the speed. Someone made a point about it on the comments on TTD. I'll have to dig out my VGP and give it a listen.

This is the 1st time I hear about a radio broadcast of Passaic 1978 .....

1st question : does someone have any clue or any proof of this broadcast ?

If confirmed :

2nd question : is SFM complete on this broadcast ?
3rd question : broadcast date ? (before of after the release of Garden State ?)

approximative release dates :

mid july 1978 : Out On Bail (LP + single)
late 1978 early 1979 - In Again Out Again (LP)
before march 1979 - Garden State (2LP)

Thanks if someone can help.

@ Hyde :

I DL'ed two songs from the torrent : both sound bad, both run much too fast and SFM has the usual fade out/ audience patch (so yeah MR's right : it's probably from the TSP cd).

So nothing new udner the sun unless you like downgrades. grinning smiley

The OP of the Atlanta gig forgot one song (CYHMK).
He just made a corrected version of his torrent :

June 12, 2015 (Friday)
Orlando, Florida
The Citrus Bowl

Taper: Mr. Foo <--> The Tootsiehead
Gear: SP-CMC-8 > SP-PREAMP > (line in) SONY PCM-M10 > Audacity (track splitting) > Xact
Location: On the floor about halfway back, a bit left of center stage. Well-behaved audience around me.

01. Intro
02. Jumpin’ Jack Flash
03. It’s Only Rock ‘N’ Roll (But I Like It)
04. All Down The Line
05. Tumbling Dice
06. Doom And Gloom
07. Bitch
08. Moonlight Mile
09. She’s So Cold
10. Honky Tonk Women
11. Band Introductions
12. Before They Make Me Run
13. Happy
14. Midnight Rambler
15. Miss You
16. Gimme Shelter
17. Start Me Up
18. Sympathy For The Devil
19. Brown Sugar
20. You Can’t Always Get What You Want
21. (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction

I had bad vibes on the drive to the concert because the weather forecast called for 80 to 100 percent chance of rain during the show. Thankfully, we got not one drop of rain, and there was a nice breeze. I saw the Stones only once before in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1994, so I figured if I wanted to see them again now was the time. Mick was full of energy throughout the show, and the crowd couldn’t get enough. There were bum notes from Keith from time to time, but no one seemed to care. It’s clear that 2015 is not 1972, but they’re still getting it done. I was hoping for “Street Fighting Man,” but “She’s So Cold” was nice. Let me know what you think of the quality.
