Imho :
March 7 : both tapes are similar in quality.
March 8 : the Dime recording is notably better than the hollow sounding VGP-218 title.

I remember all of this event and before. The radio announces that the Rolling Stones are going on sale. OK, when?? It is going on sale in one hour. Talk about dropping everything and rushing to Flip Side records (Ticketron). I was like 10th in line and ended up not where I would have liked. The demand for this show was through the roof. I failed at getting scalpers seats which I always succeeded. This was the days when this arena really needed help on the acoustics. They have really done a lot since to improve the sound. This is one of the WORST sounding ones I ever did. The band sounds weird. Maybe the shit acoustics will do that. This was the same time I purchased that Soundcraftsman Equalizer, the pro Inductive Coil passive version. I tell you guys! It was incredible the difference this EQ did for shows like this. I will never forget pumping my fist in the air after hearing the A/B difference. I never let this recording out without the EQ. I used to write down the settings so the next time it was simple. The very first time took a long time to get it right. Alan Parsons would have been proud. So be aware that this version is raw and boy is it ever!! This one is tough to blast and get good dynamic range on the best system. Who knows though how much I may enjoy hearing it on this AMAZING Uniticore Naim Server. NOTHING sounds better. The shows I have been playing from this archiving......."never heard them sound this good"! Enjoy RB
Understand that all this archiving that is recorded in 24b/192khz is for my own use. It is the best sound! Sharing it in cd format is lossy. If you really enjoy these archives get them at this resolution despite the file size. Down the road you will not be sorry. Is this a nice enough way to say it?
