I know it’s so easy to respect their wishes. People act like they are starving dogs and as soon as that recording hits the internet they can stamp any crappy remaster on it and call it theirs. It gets old watching the same person do the same thing over and over.

You're way off base with daspy. What's stupid is the people that don't get it. I've hung with the guy, and he is more than generous. All he asks is that people don't ruin the tapes he has made. These requests have been repeatedly ignored over the last 5+ years, and it is sad. The "remastering" is a joke and is not good. Just like upsampling lossy files to flac....it's nonsense, but I guess that is what the majority like. The man wants to share as do others, but they no longer will. Notice no Boston tapes have showed up yet......there is a reason.
Your skinned upsampled youtube audio will have to do, and that is sad as well. Remember.....without the tapers our most memorable shows are just a memory that fades away.

And we've not heard the last of it since then...(I'm not kidding about the length of time - incredible that someone could hold a grudge over a poxy tape recording that long......

I didn't agree with what rsk did with that and have said so now on here four times ... including to rsk.

So, TWO 'illicit' remasters in 8-9 years (as I say, the first was an accident, there was nothing on the post to indicate the taper's -dapsyknows - wishes and he will not shut up about it. (The second, well, I think he was just being mischievous because of the abuse he had been getting, maybe. To emphasise, rsk hadn't gone against anyone's wishes since 2013....(and that was an accident.
I told DK, he's like DJT. Incessant whining, bullying people who won't submit to his will even though "his personal will" had not been messed with since 2013...(Little tendies could if he opened an account here, speak for himself) ..and insisting people "be nice" to him to get a recording...Where have we heard before............go figure.
The crap about this, especially directed at rsk is nuts and on that note I'm bowing out as I learnt a long time ago, bad mental states can be infectious....so, good luck with your associations.

It's a mentality which is to greater (well, in DJT's case maybe not) or lesser degrees is quite common.
Well, as a close observer of this board all I can say that it's you who is "complaining and whining" noticably and considerably more often than frankotero.
While you continuously make your point about people like Rskinno and the likes on each and every occasion whenever any topic seems to give you a chance to do so in a way that borders on Rskinnonoia, frankotero simply says:
"Keep your tapes private to your circle and stop complaining about why you can't share them. Enough already."
I think that's fair enough considering your endless, numerous and even in my view increasingly annoying rants about "Rskinnoing". There's absolutely nothing frankotero or anybody else can do when certain people don't respect the taper's wishes. And it's not that he asked you for tapes - quite the opposite, I'd say.
And, one last thing, for the FBI it won't make a difference if you sell a tape or "just" ask people to "contribute" by helping get the right tickets and possibly others favors - it's monetizing all the same.

I think you miss the point entirely. Once the tape is offered to the general public via downloads, you can't control it anymore. Daspyknows don't want his tapes remastered or monetized by bootleggers. That's fair enough. But there's absolutely nothing anybody can do when certain people or bootleg companies don't respect the taper's wishes. Absolutely nothing. In the history of tape trading, there was always someone who did what people should not do. Always. Consequently, it makes absolutely no sense to flood this board with endless complaints about "Rskinnoing" or whining about japanese bootleggers and that without them, it would be a better world and anybody could enjoy these tapes.
If you want to hear his tapes, contact Daspyknows and try your luck. That's the only way. Of course, you could pray for a better world without people remastering against his will and without any bootleggers out there instead. But that would be simply naive in my opinion.

Will get back to you. I am busy trying to get ready for next trip and was out taping Little Feat and Tedeschi Trucks last night.
I will have that one tracked and shared tonight because there is no risk of it being sold or messed with. In fact there is only one band where that is an issue. Only Rolling Stones recordings regularly get messed with and rarely is stuff sold unless posted on Dime.

After reading the above posts I have to say I feel a little foolish to get involved in the first place. Certainly there's no changing a person. Anyhow, thanks to those guys that understand what I tried to say. Let's not go away from here because of such things. I'm not a taper, but I'm a collector. Not just the Stones, but a variety of artists. I feel very fortunate to have high quality recordings of every Stones concert I've attended (still waiting on MetLife 2, but that will come).
For me, these tapes are akin to photographs. They preserve cherished memories and unforgettable evenings where everything seems right in the world for two hours or so. Tapers keep the music and the memories alive, and if you're a true music fan, you should appreciate their efforts and sacrifice.
daspy's tapes are among the best out there, 99.99 % of the time it's a futile attempt to remaster them anyway. Not just daspy, either - there are many great Stones tapers out there who do indispensable work.

Daspyknows don't want his tapes remastered or monetized by bootleggers. That's fair enough. But there's absolutely nothing anybody can do when certain people or bootleg companies don't respect the taper's wishes. Absolutely nothing. In the history of tape trading, there was always someone who did what people should not do. Always. Consequently, it makes absolutely no sense to flood this board with endless complaints about "Rskinnoing" or whining about japanese bootleggers and that without them, it would be a better world and anybody could enjoy these tapes.
If you want to hear his tapes, contact Daspyknows and try your luck. That's the only way. Of course, you could pray for a better world without people remastering against his will and without any bootleggers out there instead. But that would be simply naive in my opinion.

I think you miss the point entirely. Once the tape is offered to the general public via downloads, you can't control it anymore. Will get back to you. I am busy trying to get ready for next trip and was out taping Little Feat and Tedeschi Trucks last night.
I will have that one tracked and shared tonight because there is no risk of it being sold or messed with. In fact there is only one band where that is an issue. Only Rolling Stones recordings regularly get messed with and rarely is stuff sold unless posted on Dime.
