The Rolling Stones - Los Angeles 14.10.2021_AcidProject 068
Hi Stones fanatics,
i have got this tape direct from the taper, he wanted to stay anonymous. It was very good recording, taped from the pit.
I did some level correction and new EQ. Also cleanded some clicks cused by loud clapping, with pencil tool.

I couldn't find my DPA microphones. I think I accidently left them with TSA
on a recent trip. Bummer. So, I decided to go ahead and record the show with the DR-2d's internal mikes. I'd used them before and was surprised by the good quality.
My seat was 11 rows in front of Ronnie's pit in the middle of section D.
There was a stage right speaker stack pointing directly at me. This was the source for
this recording. I have done some very basic mastering to get this recording release ready. I graciously invite a Stones mastering expert to remaster this. I will be providing the raw 24-96 files so we don't get a remastering, but just a different mastering.
The wind was quite gusty and there was quite a bit of wind noise coming from the stage mikes/speaker stack for the opening act. There is occasionally some wind noise on this recording. It's not that bad and I didn't try to deal with it.
Because I was recording from essentially one speaker stack the recording is a little mono-ish for the music. The relatively calm and appropriate audience noise is in excellent stereo.
I made 2 minor cuts between 2 songs. So if someone wants to use this for the soundtrack of a video please be aware. Not an issue if you use raw files.
I had the 80Hz low cut on to try to protect the recording from being overloaded. It wasn't needed. So a bass boost wouldn't hurt.
Lastly the recording is a little crispy on the high end. This was evident by the concert sound and was subsequently recorded. Maybe a little EQ is in order, but not necessary.
I'm nitpicking here. The recording turned out much better than I had hoped. At times the mix is somewhat eclectic and variable. I'm sure there is some phasing due to the wind, but that doesn't explain all of it. Overall though I'm happy with the sound. Check the samples.
I think Street Fighting Man is a great choice as an opening song. It's a powerful rock song and sets the tone for the rest of the show. I had checked out a few recordings from earlier shows on this tour and that opening riff by Keith wasn't always nailed. So, I was really ready to see what we were going to get. When I saw Keith charge out on the stage in the spotlight and nailed it I was immediately overjoyed.
I hope you enjoy the show!

I'd say that recording needs a bass boost, and some remastering that enlivens the tedious mono sound.
