BACKGROUND:
The second show from the 1976 European Tour with the full show from an audience source and the more popular partial soundboard version as extra tracks. The original audience tape I got hold of from a second hand record shop in Derby about 20 years ago. Somebody sold their entire Stones collection by the looks of it and among the official stuff were hundreds of live tapes! Picked up quite a few at the time, this is one of them. If anybody has an upgrade of the full audience show it would be appreciated.

Hope you enjoy it.

I don't believe it either! >grinning smiley<
It could be another tape mis-ID'ed as the missing Chicago tape.

EDIT : apparently it's the same tape with different lineage and different sound characteristics. But the marker at the end of SFM (the man yelling after the very last note of the song is played) is present on both tapes.

Shall we tell Cragga or not? grinning smiley

I have not had a chance to listen yet. But it smelled fishy when he wrote "from my CDRs" like it was something natural. If it was from his TAPES it would be more believable.

I' m not able to compare these recordings to others as I mostly don' t collect audience recordings, so I can' t say if these recordings are really coming from these 2 shows. But I would rate the audio quality as very poor not very good (imho).

And yeah it's fair-good not VG.
I used the EQ tool of VLC to boost the highs to the max and make this one listenable... but by doing so you boost the tape hiss so much it almost overshadows the music itself.

Tapers Notes:

Woodstock couldn't get the Beatles, the Rolling Stones or Bob Dylan
in 1969. That miracle lineup was an impossibility then and for
most of the years since, until the producers of Coachella finally
made a facsimile of that Sixties triumvirate real with this weekend's
three-day Desert Trip festival in Southern California.

The Stones set was short on special effects (other than some
fireworks near the very end) and none were needed. Stripped down,
the Stones are still a rock & roll band to be feared.

The true thanks go not to me, but to the taping community behind whose footsteps
I have followed, including those who have perfected the art of stealth recordings,
the makers of the stealthy mikes, cords, adapters, and preamps, and those who
have graciously shared their recording techniques.

I am merely a mike stand with a credit card and driver's license.

As always, I don't care what you do with these files, once you download
them--they are yours now, except these files are not for sale, free
trade only. You can thank me by uploading something of a similar genre
or trading with me, so I can.

Rolling Stones- Boston Garden 1969 nov. 29 (late show)- low gen. aud, 47th anniversary upload!

I just looked here on dime for what stones have been thrown up here
and out of over 300 shows, I found just one or two from 1969. that's not nearly enough. didn't see anything from before that either.
the earlier the better with this band.
listening to a bunch of 70somethings try to sound like a bunch of 20-30somethings just doesn't help my sense of aging faster than I'd like to be.
I'd much rather hear a bunch of 20somethings try to sound like a bunch of 20somethings.
when this group really was the greatest rock and roll band in the world.
anyone remember those days? they were very turmulous, much like today's.
have we learned anything yet? yes. we've learned that we like rock and roll.
so have some from the masters of the genre.
I don't often get a chance to share a 47th anniversary upload, but here you go.

Keith Richards, Keb Mo, Ravi Coltrane, Randy Weston and more - Great Night in Harlem 2015, New York, Oct. 22, 2015 - FM

Here's another one that's been languishing unheard on my computer for nearly two years. Usually I find the "Great Night in Harlem" broadcast kind of boring... but Keith Richards changed all that! Worth the download just to hear him and the band ramble through a couple of songs.

Would love to know what Sonny Rollins was thinking as Keith was rocking out.

Note:
There is a pretty severe low-pitched rumbling noise for the first few minutes of the broadcast and recording. It goes away about 45 seconds into Track 2.

Editing notes:
There were numerous very short (about one-tenth of a second) dropouts throughout that I removed... Hopefully I caught them all. In addition, some longer dropouts remain, including:
* 2-second dropout at 3:47 into Track 15
* Two dropouts totalling about 10 seconds about 2:35 minutes into Track 22.

Additionally, some WWOZ radio announcements were edited out:
* A 13-second WWOZ announcement edited out during the applause at the end of Track 18.
* Another 7-second annoucement a few seconds later was edited out
* And yet another announcement, 11-seconds long a few seconds after the last one was also edited out -- all at the end of Track 18
* A 9-second station ID after Track 19 was removed
* And finally, an 8-second ID after Track 24 was removed.
