I think I may've found the solution to our file sharing problems: zUpload.
As a downloader I think this site is rather wonderful as I was able to download the equivalent of 3 full albums simultaneously in a matter of minutes. It also only asks you to wait 20 seconds before downloading as well. Reading the FAQ, it all appears to be free as well. So why not check it out and see what you think.

A problem is that files are deleted after 30 days.

That is true - if the files are inactive for that length of time.
