Hello kream, I can't tell you how thankful I am for this show! I was there 10th row, DAT player in hand ready to record as usual when, to my horror, some hillbilly went and got security! I've seen and taped shows for almost 30 years and my streak ends with a SNITCH! Anyway, thanks a million man!

Oh yeah, are you seeking anything for yourself?

As a Kansan, let me apologize for the actions of this snitch piece of shit. Hope you got to at least watch the gig. It was wonderful.

Well, I guess I'm going to wade into this.

RapidShare (RS)is a good place to DL stuff.

If you're doing RS for free, it's a pain in the tookis. I got tired of the time constraint or turning the computer off and on, so I bit the bullet and got an initial one month subscription. Once I DL'd a dozen albums worth of music in a half hour I was convinced it was worth the purchase. I haven't looked back since and have renewed my subscription in three month blocks.

Having a cable or DSL line will make RS work so much better than dial up. This is where RS problems probably arise for folks trying to use RS, along with the time constraint thing if you're doing it for free.

Something to keep in mind: The overwhelming majority of sites I've used, found and am still finding on the Net for music use RS as their primary DL link. There's a reason for this. Another good point: The RS links will last virtually forver if they're being used and don't have, as far as I know, restrictions on how many people can use them before they die. So, like many others here and elsewhere using RS, I had to learn about what rar files are and how to open them, how to upload them, download them, etc.

Now, I'm starting to do torrents. These are a real pain because, even with a direct cable connection, it can take hours, days, weeks, months, years to DL something. And when I do finally get the files DL'd, they're usually in FLAC or SHN formats which requires another whole series of steps to be done to obtain the music. So, this crates another level of things to learn how to use.

For those who are reluctant to use RS or deal with rar files, there are any number of free utilities (like WinRar for example) available for DL to help you use the files you DL. Use Google or Yahoo's search engines to find them. Regarding file formats, find a program called "Switch". It will convert most file formats in the free version and do a few more tricks if you buy the application.

Embrace your inner tech geek. Believe me, if a Luddite like me can figure out how to use and do this stuff, so can you.

Yes I did get to stay and watch the show, I just handed over my blank DATs. Thanks for the concern and wish me luck next Wednesday at Soldier Field! I hope to post that show for you all as a make-up!
