As I supplied the source material/ masters for this new Japanese 'Idol Mind'release (which sounds STUNNING by the way)- by the end of the week I should receive a small batch of this double cd release. As with the other recent 'Idol Mind'releases- the first 150 will be housed in individualy numbered paper (card), mini-lp style packaging.
I should also receive a limited amount of the 'promo' version.

This release arrived this morning & already, I only have 5 left. So, if you are interested- you'd better be quick. As I said above- you won't see this release again at this 'knock-down' price & it is SUPERB.

I still have several of these left, due to people asking me to 'hold' them for them & then never getting back in touch.
So, feel free to enquire. I'm not a dealer though. Once these have gone, I won't be getting any more.

Also- I think it's worth pointing out that this recording of the show is far superior to the one posted on Dime & Rocks Off.
I don't mean any disrespect to the person who kindly posted that version.I downloaded that for comparison & the engineers in Japan also confirmed this.
All I mean is: even if you don't buy this release from me- I would highly recommend that you take the time to hear it- by whatever method, trade etc.

No- no joke my friend. All the big manufacturers/labels in Japan (whether it's DAC, EXile etc) obviously use sound engineers to get the best out of the 'masters' they work with. This involves frequency comparisons, editing etc. For example, the masters I sent had the DJ who introduced the show saying "you are listening to the Rolling Stones live from Glasgow" over the beginning of certain tracks. They have managed to remove this with flawless editing. The Japanese companies take this stuff very seriously indeed.
Also, they specifically asked me to do it for them, so I went to great lengths to get the best possible results. As I'm in a top floor flat (which is also on a hill) I got fantastic results. The aerials were even set up round my room on professional mike-stands. The broadcast was then recorded directly onto 'audio cd'. Simultaneously, I recorded a min-disc 'back-up' taken directly from a digital 'free-view' box (we have these in the UK to pick up certain digital channels- this also receives digital radio broadcasts). So- right from the start, this recording has been done to absolutely the best standard possible.
I would never criticise the efforts of someone else (ie: the person who made this available as Bit Torrent). Most people nowadays are perfectly happy to have things like this on cdr. Releases like this are very much aimed at the 'Collector' (like myself). But as a scenario, think back to how a cassette sounded with the 'Dolby' on or off. The BT version sounds like a tape would with the Dolby on. This version sounds like a tape with the dolby off- BUT- with no hiss or interference. It has more detail in the high frequencies.

'Idol Mind'. Where did that come from? People wise up, I was at gig and on the Monday listened to the Beeb's (free) broadcast and believe me it's as good as you'll get. I doubt even a Soundboard boot would be of much better quality.

What's wrong with selling CDs?
There's so much complaining about it, that I'm freaking gonna order that boot.
This forum was originally for selling and buying.

Did I say there was anything wrong with selling CD's? I've bought the very things myself from this very site. Speaking as a Glaswegian however, I was kinda wondering where this 'hill' was near Hampden Park.

Before you start with all this bullshit- do your homework!. Did I say I was in Glasgow?. No. 'Idol Mind' were a respected bootleg label that operated from Italy in the 1990's. The company has now been taken over by a Japanese company. This is their 10th release- they have re-released 'Acetates', 'Stattic In The Attic', 'The Harder They Come' & others in this limited paper-sleeve format & in massively upgraded quality to great reviews.They contacted me & asked me if I could do this for them as A. I'm in the Uk & have been a good customer & B. They knew I had the best equipment for the job.Also- because they have integrity- they will not use Internet sources for their releases.
So- go do your homework & if you want to be insulting- get the **** off my thread & do it somewhere else!

OK- apology accepted. I don't hold grudges. I've been ripped off too in the past, which is why I was upset by your remarks- especially, as- if you order these direct from Japan they will probably be about twice as much.
I advertised them here ( excluding the Ebay problem)-because I wanted to HELP other fans get them. Afterall- I didn't 'pay' for them. I'm not here often enough to witness any 'ill-feeling', but I respect you for having the good manners to apologise. So- I'll consider that we've 'kissed & made up' as they say!

Hi J-P,
Long time no see!. I think that's just there because a broadcast recording IS effectively a soundboard recording. It was broadcast 3 days after the gig, so it will have been 'mixed' to a certain extent. That's just my theory. But, whatever the 'boffins' have done to it- it's official release quality. 'Idol Mind' also released the 'Saitama' broadcast & personally, I think Glasgow is better.

You made recording on stand alone CD recorder, or I am wrong?Simultaneously, you recorded on Minidsc.In both cases you have recordings in digital 16 bit/44khz, correct?That recording in digital format 16/44 you sent to "engineers" in Japan. As I can see on cover they DONE 32 bit remaster with high end analog processors, correct?Something which is in 16 format, engineers transform in 32 bit and do remaster.What about analog???maybe they transform yor digital recording to analog and later put it in 32 bit high end machine??after remaster in 32 bit format, they make 16 bit/44 khz and put on CD.Very funny!!!How much cost remaster with high end machine with high end engineers?

Sorry- I haven't got a clue what you're talking about!. But, it sounds great- so I don't worry about all this 'anal' stuff. As the radio signal was received by an analogue receiver & went through an analogue amplifier before 'hitting' the digital cd recorder, it has in fact already gone through an analogue to digital process. That's all I know- but it sounds superb, so what's the problem?.
There seem to be people here who are obsessed with all these technicalities & yet they're perfectly happy to download & enjoy MP3's. So- I don't think there's any point in all this 'nit-picking'.

OK- fair enough, but what is so great about 'Cool,Cool Hand'?. He produces remasters of official Stones albums aswell as boots. So, how does he do that, when he doesn't even have access to any master tape?.
I have no need to 'advertise' the Japanese 'engineers'- I'm not a dealer. But the editing I mentioned couldn't be done by someone inexperieced & it sounds great & that's all that matters to me. Some of 'CCH's' work isn't great. As the saying goes: "if it ain't broke- don't fix it"!.

I did not hear about that, maybe you mix with Micky Boy.Maybe he uses Mobile Fidelity Sounds Labs LP's.I did not research about his sources.

OK, so maybe I overdid the criticism but this show was broadcast just recently. So I prefer people just sharing it. I don't see why anybody should charge 20 pounds for it. Then this story about "I have only 5 left" sounds like the complete salesman bullshit to me. That's what people are salesman for, but it's still plain lying. Furthermore the japanese take great care with a lot of things. But those people doing the illicit trade, from which I profited as well, are definitely also the ones you wouldn't trust. Lastly, to filter out the voice of a presenter really isn't a great deal with modern audio equipment. Anybody can do that.

Whale, some real collector are colleting some real CDs. Forgot ?

But, as we all know, there's a sucker born every minute.

However, IF you wanted to do the right thing, you'd simply offer up this on a bit torrent or on a file-sharing site.

Maybe it's just me, but in 2006, guys like you just come off as money-grubbing parasites.

Oh, I already got this show, and a couple of others, and all they cost me was my IP bill.

Audiowise there is absolutely no sense in owning a CD. It's a 25 year old audio format!
If you want a silver pressed CD, ok that makes sense.

we live in a free world (I think) so why all these moanings about people who are selling ORIGINAL SILVERS, not crap cdrs or mp3's?

I'm taking the time to reply to all these offensive remarks, purely to clarify & to say that I'm really surprised by the reaction this has provoked.
I am NOT a salesman & if you look further up the page, I said ages ago that i DON'T HAVE ANY LEFT. So, why the continued attack?.
I (& many other people) like to collect REAL FACTORY cds. So, I've sold the small batch I received here at, what is effectively half-price.
Obviously, this has upset alot of people who like to always get something for nothing, but haven't you people got anything better to do?.
There have been none left for half of the page & you're still spitting bile at me!?. I think you guys should take a step back & take a LONG GOOD LOOK at what vitriolic, bitter people you obviously are.
As far as 'offering something everyone has'- I haven't manufactured this release, so blame the record label, not me. I wanted to sell these as soon as pos, so that I can post them all in one journey (as I'm disabled), but I don't expect anyone will believe that either!

And let's not forget that the stuff you guys download (& obviously expect) for nothing- has usually been uploaded from a factory release that someone has PAID for. So- who is the parasite living off other peoples' 'expenditure'?

I Sumi. No problem- I respect your opinion & also the fact that you've never resorted to the offensive & insulting comments posted above.
There seems to be a 'pack mentality' here. One person posts something insulting & the rest of their little 'clique' join in.
And- just while I'm here, I'd also like to THANK the posters who have defended me, by saying that I've not done anything wrong.
Some people are happy having a huge collection of cdrs. They may be less happy a few years down the line when they find them all to be 'unreadable', which has happened in the past.
