Yeah - sheepishly I admit yes. I found them somewhere else though, so all is cool.

Are Mickboy's releases part of the Stones official catalog? Do they receive any money from the sales of his remasters? How official are they?

I don't know, Joe. I would think they are not part of the official catalogue, but if Mickboy uses the official tracks, the record company might be hostile to Mickboy, too. I'm not claiming to be an expert on the legalities, and I'm not saying it's "bad" to download Mickboy. I just really like having the "Hot Stuff" section of IORR, I don't want to cause BV any trouble and I don't want him to shut this section down.

MickBoy is not officially sanctioned and The Stones do not receive royalties from his work. Since he remasters official releases as well as outtakes and live recordings, he has come under fire from The Stones and/or Virgin's lawyers which resulted in him maintaining less visibility than he had before. Posting his remastered outtakes and live bootleg recordings would be okay, but I would not recommend posting his remastered album tracks as it does put this site in jeopardy. Sure, we're sharing freely and not supporting bootleggers, but we're sharing material under copyright and that does constitute a violation.

Naughty boy, that Mickboy. I just don't appreciate when a bootlegger threatens to shut a site down.

IMHO Mickboy got cocky or bored and started remastering official recordings. I did it for fun with Exile but I never released it. Bootlegs are one thing, official discs are something else.
