what's that ?

The charity put out a cassette of many different artists covering Gimme Shelter. The Stones Clemson 89 version was also on it but more important it was on 1 of 2 Promo CD's send to radio stations. It shows up on eBay from time to time and I have not been able to snag it. The one I posted is from bootleg.

If anyone does have one for sale or trade, I am looking for it.

Especially Terrifying and Sexdrive makes me go crazy... really great versions!
Terrifying has a relaxing-jazzy-feel... And the bass in Sexdrive, awesome!!

I posted tracks from out of print cd singles. Erik, you have a point with the songs from Rarities and I will take the links to those 3 songs down.

As far as the Japanese tracks are concerned, and this is in MY opinion only...

If the Stones want to make a track available to only 1 country, that is their business but the majority of their CD sales and Tour Sales come from Europe and the US.

My question is and I do not want to offend but why the hell don't we rate an extra song? As far as I'm concerned if Jagger could put Rough Justice on 2 singles with a live version of it on the way, he could have easily put Angie - BTB, I Just Wanna Make Love To You - No Security, and If You Can't Rock Me - Live Licks on them.

Instead he puts out Rarities which only about 5 songs actually fall into that category. Well Mick here are the real rarities!

Bottom line, if BV wants these down, I got no problem nor do I want one and I will comply.

I think the easiest way to deal with this issue is to ask yourself this....

Can I walk into my local record store and buy them ?? If the answer is yes, then they shouldn't be posted on IORR.

Clever, coldturkey; however, I'm from Canada so the only stuff that I can't buy here are the japanese bonus tracks, so I consider those as candidates for uploading to IORR. Everything else is off limits.

I read once that the reason Japanese releases get an extra tracks has to do with the price of CDs in Japan. Apparently the price of an average CD is so high Japanese people could buy the same CD and have it shipped from the US or Europe and it would be less expensive. An extra, or bonus track, is usually included to give Japanese people a reason to buy the Japenese release.

I had heard that also but Japan and Germany were the first places CD's were being manufactured. All my earliest CD's are printed in West Germany or Japan. These CD's were being sold as a domestic product and not as Imports, so the point is moot because there is no way in hell they would have to pay more for a CD that is produced in their own country.

What puzzles me is Black Limousine from the Japanese Stripped CD was a bonus track on Like A Rolling Stone. They even threw in All Down The Line live with it. Mick knows it's an easy buck so why not continue the trend. I myself am a perfect sucker for this. When Biggest Mistake comes out in Germany, I dont care if I have to buy it as an Import, I want my 2 Super Bowl tracks. See what I mean? It brings me full circle now. They rate an extra song so they buy the CD and I am spending the price of a CD if not more to buy a 3 song CD single.

Is the version of Angie you post is the same of the BtoB japan version ?

Don Was Live Remix is basically the live 1/16/98 version with the audience taken out. I don't think theres much else to it.

I got mine from ebay. Be careful, there are 2 promotional cd's. The one you want is DPRO-13159.
