Here it is, Sound is bad, but for this show it is kind of cool. LISTEN WITH HEADPHONES if you can, the taper was very close to the chaos. Sound changes throughout the disc as the taper moves away from whatever disturbance breaks out. These are MP3's, Wav would take me a while with my connection.

By the way, these tracks are in the correct order. Also, by First Try and Second Try, I mean the Stones' first and second attempts at these songs during the show. They have been broken up into individual tracks on my disc. Please don't skip over thinking that I screwed something up with Yousendit.

Okay, here is a very tension filled Gimme Shelter

Yes, I've also only had a couple of trax, the quality doesn't matter, its one of those classic must-haves. Many thx for posting

Superb thanks - hard to imagine someone in the audience taping this, presumably lugging round a largish reel to reel tape deck, I would say the quality is too good for cassette, which was still in its infancy. Any ideas?

"Let me out of here - I can't take this @#$%& bullshit!"
"There's nowhere to go, man!"

This is really incredible, chilling stuff. The one boot where listening to the crowd is as interesting as listening to the band. Thanks for posting this!

I wonder whether more than one person taped the Altamont show because a couple guys named Lance Loud and Kristian Hoffman recorded it and then learned Brown Sugar in their then-high school band claiming the song as their own.I've often wondered whether their recording is the circulating one, though I suspect not.Lance had a pretty distinctive voice and it doesn't sound like him on the recording. They went on to form a pretty successful group called the Mumps who did the CBGB'S scene in NY in the 70's.Lance also achieved notoriety by famously coming out on the PBS documentary An American Family in '73.Just a little trivia w/ respect to Altamont.
