The most unfortunate aspect of the 1978 Some Girls Tour was that the Stones did not bring it to Europe a year later. Since the performance in Lakeland, Florida, we waited impatiently for bootlegs and tapes from the US Tour 78. These arrived by post, and it usually took months before we could hear Beast, Whip, Lies, Miss You, Respectable, Imagination, Shattered, Make Me Run or Far Away Eyes live. The tapes are still a treat today. StonyRoad has remastered many of them, and part of this series will be the videos that have been preserved. Apart from what was officially released, you will find videos from 1978 with added soundtracks, some from Super 8 recordings, some from news programmes. A big 'thank you' to everyone who pressed the record button back then, allowing us to take part in the Some Girls Tour after all these years.
I like to thank nzb for his help and for so many video files. Many thanks also to StonyRoad for reworking most of the audio files so well. He will present them separately.
About 19780713 New Orleans (synced with new audio, speed problems solved).
The barely comprehensible original film soundtrack was replaced by StonyRoad's remastered audience recording. Unfortunately, no alternative soundtrack was available for the beginning of Brown Sugar. The soundtrack had to be sped up slightly for the film.
