THE ROLLING STONES

North American Tour.

In this series we concentrate on audience recordings, leaving out the rehearsals, and of course the official recordings. KBFH-recordings will only be used for merges or matrix recordings.

Thanks to the people who recorded and shared these shows and also to my accomplices nzb and BlueTurns2Grey who gave me the benefit of their advice and support.

(CLEVELAND)

1st July 1978: Cleveland, Ohio, Municipal Stadium

Two sources from this show circulate:
- source #1 can be found on “We Ain’t Sugar’ (VGP 335), it’s an average recording but running at
correct speed.
- source #2 is a better recording which appears on vinyl releases or vinyl rips like ‘Rim Shout’ (1),
‘Shattered’ (2), ‘We Ain’t Sugar/Shattered’ (3) and on ‘Cleveland 1978’ (4) (but every of these
versions has its issues).
(1) has only 8 tracks with a saturated sound and the tracks are in complete disorder
(2) has only 10 tracks (also the ones missing in (1))
(3) contains the tracks from (1) still in disorder and (2) except for ‘Miss You’ which is missing. It
has a good sound but it’s speed is way too slow (must be accelerated by around 8% in the first part
and 12% in the last part).
(4) is closer to (3) but more complete with not as good sound and runs way too fast (must be
decelerated by around -6%).
I decided to keep the advantage from every source, I used the VGP for the speed reference, version
(3) as the base: I put the tracklist in order and completed it with version (4).
A special thanks to BT2G by helping me with the de-clicking of version (3)!
As usual, all the recordings are de-clicked, and the balance, azimuth and the are improved.
