In this series we concentrate on audience recordings, leaving out the rehearsals, and of course the official recordings. KBFH-recordings will only be used for merges or matrix recordings.

Several years ago, I released a version of this show as ‘Hound Dogs In Lexington’ (FP 014).
This was before DAC released its version ‘Handsome Girls Lexington’ (DAC 178) which is a mix
from the KBFH source and the audience source coming from “Let It Rock Lexington” (Rocking
Rott = RR) which is missing the 2 last tracks of the set.
I tried merging and mixing the tracks, but the results weren’t satisfactory because the quality
difference between the two sources is too significant (the audience version being of poor quality).
Therefore, I decided to present the complete show using the best sources. Some sections between
the soundboard tracks were removed, so I filled them in with the audience source. However, since
these patches are of poor quality, I’ve isolated these sections, which can easily be removed if you
wish (example CD1, tracks 10).
As usual, all the recordings are de-clicked, the balance, the azimuth and the phase are improved.
