Post: MJ - Auckland, Nov. 5, 1988 (Video with reworked audio)
Dear Stones fans,
New Zealand celebrated Guy Fawkes Day in style with spectacular fireworks while Mick Jagger gave his concert on November 5, 1988. Due to the noise from the fireworks, sound recordings were more difficult to make than at most concerts. Nevertheless, there is at least one audio recording of this extraordinary set list and, fortunately, footage of the entire film. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Midimannz for allowing us to use it.
StonyRoad has made every effort to suppress the background noise as much as possible, and I have tried to reduce some firework noises in a 2nd step and to stabilize the film somewhat and present it in a slightly different aspect ratio.
Even after removing hundreds of banging noises and a few whistling sounds from ascending rockets, some songs still have a noticeable amount of background noise. Guy Fawkes turned this into a 'Collector's Only' video, the setlist into a must-have.
I like to thank nzb for his help and his infos. Many thanks also to StonyRoad for reworking the audio files. He will present them separately.
Special thanks for this footage to midimannz. He transfered his Auckland video material from VHS to digital format and presented it with Quiquestone's cover in 2011. You'll find more about this in the IORR forum: [
