this appears to be a version of crushed pearls with mick jagger on vocals



funny enough the previously circulated version with keith on vocals from the dirty work sessions sounds a bit more developed then this one

which raises some interesting questions

is this an even earlier version of the song and keith decided to work on it more himself at some point after resulting in the better known version?

just answered my own question

it appears that this outtake originates from the undercover sessions

i knew i remembered reading about an outtake called muscle boogie before and then it clicked it was one of the new outtake titles mentioned in the documents from the undercover sessions that showed up for auction last year



and there it is dated as recorded on feb 23, 1983

and checking nico's site he has it listed as being recorded at pathe marconi studios

so crushed pearls begane as a undercover outtake called muscle boogie that keith worked on more during the dirty work sessions two years later

thanks to glimmerman for his continuing generosity towards us fans

not many of those who have this unciculated stuff are sharing it lately and i greatly appreciate what you've given us

one more thing nico has it listed as possibly being written by jagger, richards and ronnie

Just to put it right as I see the starting confusion: you mixed up the songs - you uploaded Crushed Pearl with MJ on lead vocals and not Muscle Boogie (which should be a fast rock'n roll instrumental).

go to the top of this thread where you made your original post

just below your post is a grey box labeled Options:

in that grey box there is a option called Edit Post

click or tap on that and it should bring you to a box just like the one at the bottom of page where you normally would add new posts and like the one where you created this thread to begin with

in the line above the big text box labeled Subject: where you originally titled this thread you should see the title of this thread

click or tap on that line and simply type in your new title for this thread

then at the bottom of the box click or tap on the tab that says Save Changes

and your done

The ragged Keith version probably comes from the Spring 85 Boulogne sessions (lots of tapes were found/stolen when the Pathe Marconi studios were pulled down around 1992) and the new version from the NYC sessions later that year.
