Autumn Australasian L.A.S.H. Tour.
This series is dedicated to Mick Jagger's solo tour of Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia.
Thanks to those who recorded and shared their recordings.
Nzb contributed his recordings and knowledge, and BlueTurns2Grey will create a
companion volume by compiling the best available video footage and synchronizing it with the audio files that I have reworked.
Line-up: MJ (voc, gtr, harm)/Joe Satriani (gtr)/Jimmy Rip (gtr)/Doug Wimbish (bass)/Simon Phillips (dr)/Phil Ashley (keyb)/Susie Davis (keyb, gtr)/Bernard Fowler, Carol Kenyon, Valerie Scott and Jenny Douglas (bvoc)

MELBOURNE - II
Volume 18:
7th October 1988: MICK JAGGER. Melbourne, Australia, International Tennis Center
For this show the version in my collection turned out to be mislabeled and only the CT Production ‘Deep Down Under - part 7’ was authentic.
The sound was very low but when it’s amplified a big rumble appears and sometimes what seems to be a ‘ghost recording’ (for example in the beginning of ‘Primitive Cool’).
I used a slight filter to increase the listening pleasure.
The transitions are reworked and the microgaps between the tracks deleted. The phase is also upgraded.
The show begins with a recorded introduction that allowed speed correction: the recording had to be accelerated by +3%.
There were lots of channel variations and other flaws (gaps, noises): I did what I could to upgrade them.
This recording required a full restoration job, even if the end result may not entirely sound like it, there are some very interesting passages (especially in the first part of the recording).

Here I really had the impression of doing a restoration job even if the result may seem disappointing, there are some very interesting passages (especially in the first part of the recording).
CD1:
01 - intro
02 - Throwaway
the sound quality changed at 3’49 where (as it seems) some recording tests were tried. It is now upgraded by using a 14 second mono patch until 4’03
03 - Just Another Night
04 - Honky Tonk Women
05 - Miss You
I used a mono patch from 0’14 until 0’22
06 - Tumbling Dice
07 - Radio Control
08 - Ruby Tuesday
09 - Can’t You Hear Me Knocking
10 - Harlem Shuffle
From 3’15 until 4’30 there are several canal alterations and intensity variations: I chose to replace them with a mono patch with lots of amplification corrections.
11 - Lucky In Love
12 - Primitive Cool (incomplete)
harshly cut at 1’25
CD2:
01 - War Baby
track is very altered and the rumble was strong, so I deleted or attenuated several noises at the end
02 - You Can’t Always Get What You Want
lots of channel intensity variations
03 - band introduction
04 - One Hit
05 - Foxy Lady
06 - Party Doll
a fault deleted at 45’05 and a gap at the end
07 - Wild Colonial Boy
08 - What Kind Of World Is This?
I used a 2 second mono patch to slightly improve a big flaw at 1’13
09 - Bitch
a flaw deleted at 0’12
10 - drum solo
the beginning seems missing
11 - guitar solo
12 - Gimme Shelter
the track was cut in 3 very different parts (at 2’27 & 4’27), they’re now reconnected using a 6 second mono patch.
13 - Start Me Up
14 - Brown Sugar
15 - It’s Only Rock’n Roll
16 - Jumpin' Jack Flash
I used a mono patch from 3’04 until 3’12
17 - encore break
18 - Satisfaction
I used a mono patch from 1’53 until 2’03
