POST: Mick TAYLOR 1986 North American Tour Vol 10b – 1986.08.07 – PHILADELPHIA (merged version)
Sorry for my little delay but I hope the content will compensate!
.............
Mick TAYLOR
1986 North American tour.
24th July - 22nd August:
(around 30 shows in less than a month!)
This new series is dedicated to a really special tour of Mick Taylor because it was his first with his own band, as a headliner and not as a band member. It is also special because, perhaps under the influence of singer and bassist Roger Troy, it contains a great variety of songs not played on any other tours.
Thanks to those who recorded and shared their recordings and to nzb for his irreplaceable help.
Reviews of many Mick Taylor concerts can be found at GimmeMT.com.

7th August 1986: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Trocadero Club
Line-up: MT (gtr)/Roger Troy (voc, bass)/David Bennet Cohen (keyb)/Colin Allen (dr)
Our versions for this show were of poor quality. Fortunately, Maidenlane provided a very good alternative recording that he received from the taper in 1986, in which Mick Taylor's guitar is very prominent.
This alternative version is very interesting but it lacks a bit of treble and some passages have been edited.
So we decided to offer 2 versions:
- Vol 10a which contains this ‘new’ source (source #2) reworked.
- Vol 10b which will contain a merged and combined version of the 2 sources to have the most complete version as well.
Volume 10b:
(2 sources merged and combined)
Here you will find an attempt to recreate the most complete recording.
I like the merges but they’re rather unusual because the first source was saturated so it gives a sound that some might dislike, but it lets MT’s guitar shine! This also allows you to enjoy the other instruments and Roger Troy's voice better.
In the merges, source #2 (focused on guitar) is on the left channel when the source #1 is on the right channel.
For the reworkings of the ‘new source’ see Volume 10a.
For ‘source #1’, as usual the recording was declicked, equalized (+40% to the right channel), the sound was refocused and the speed synchronized in source #1 (decelerated by
-3,5%).
01 - introduction (rebuilt)
the 23 first seconds are coming solely from source #1
02 - I’m A Blues Man (merged)
the 48 last seconds are solely from source #2
03 - Born In Chicago (merged)
from 6’42 onwards it’s coming solely from source #2
04 - Sweet Little Angel-Love Me Or I'll Kill You Baby (merged)
05 - The Stumble (merged)
except for the last 10 seconds which are coming solely from source #2
06 - Mama Lion (merged)
except for the first 8 seconds which are solely from source #1 and the last 10 seconds solely from source #2
07 - band introduction (rebuilt)
except for the first 37 seconds which are solely from source #1
started with a fade in: the beginning is missing
08 - Sweet Home Chicago (merged)
Except for the last 7 seconds which are solely from source #2
09 - Have You Ever Loved A Woman (merged)
except for the first 15 seconds and the final banter which are solely coming from source #2
10 - Big Boss Man (merged)
started with a fade in: the encore break is missing
11 - outro
coming solely from source #2
