POST: Ft Worth/Philadelphia 1972 Sorted Soundboards

This compilation is already available more or less in this form on the Rattlesnake box Touring Party 1972 and on VGP's Plug In Flush Out. However I do not like the sound of the Rattlesnake box. It is compressed and clipped and sounds bad and loud IMHO. The VGP sounds better, but I tried to use even better sources if possible. Especially a vinyl rip of the 2 LPs "Philadelphia Special".
Also, I did not include the songs from Ladies And Gentlemen, the Ft. Worth tracks are all from other sources.
And one "Uptight/Satisfaction" was always put to the wrong show which I corrected.

(No reups from me, I still have a slow connection. The fiber glass cable is already in my cellar but it's not activated yet. So there is hope...)

good idea, tks for your upload.
absolutely agree with you about sound quality of Rattlesnake box Touring Party 1972, it is also somehow muffled.
looking forward to listen to the songs tomorrow, which ones are vinyl rips ?

I just started listening to it. Thank you very much wiredallnight! It's definitly an improvement and reminds me to the vinyls, I used to listen to.

I bought the Rattlesnake Box when it came out, and I thought it was deeply flawed by the No Noise or whatever processing was employed. However, there was a subsequent Box Set called Work Sucks, Let's Go On the Road (8cd) which wholly upgraded everything on the Rattlesnake Box to where it became my "go-to" for digital of the 1972 Tour.

Note to Wired - if only for a baseline of reference, you might wish to download Work Sucks to consider it as a startign point, because it runs laps around the Rattlesnake. You may be able to find it here:

Thanks for the hint. I'll give it a listen.

I have all of the original vinyl releases of these without the no noise horrors. I have downloaded yours and look forward to comparing yours to both Work Sucks and the original records.

One thing that Work Sucks did was not only get rid of the "Dolby B" effect of No Noise, but it also raised the volume of the recordings from the levels on the Rattlesnake Box. The effect was so marked until I sold my Rattlesnake Box.

Thank you for your efforts, and I look forward to hearing yours!

Its the dynamics of the recording. Compression makes it easier to work with. Many of the fantastic old LPs have analog compression, sometimes from the studio source. They just didn't need as much like they seem to digitally.
