I've been asking for these shows since being at them in 2006.
The first show on the 6th I didn't even think to record it. But the 6th show was so bloody good I wasn't going to miss making a tape of the 8th.
I had my tape recorder, hit record, and started watching the show. Very quickly I realized my tape recorder had dead batteries. It was a disaster. But I accidently found and played back the tape a few years ago and had managed to capture the first song and the legendary "Regina, the city that rhymes with fun" dialog.
However, I didn't label the tape so currently don't know where it is. It needs speed adjustment though, since as the battery died, the tape got slower and slower in recording until I turned it off completely.
I wish these shows would come out, they obviously exist and were recorded. The show on the 6th was truly a night to remember. The weather was incredible, the Stones played amazing, there was a beautiful full moon right on top of the stage. I had binoculars with me and saw Charlize Theron in the audience before the show started. I also watched the Stones when the stage came by me close up with the binoculars also. That was an incredible...once in a lifetime thing.

Seems so .... like the 2005 Salt Lake City concert (bonus of the Copacabana Beach release).

I can't remember exactly but from what I do remember a german newspaper 'Die Welt' had claimed that the Stones (Mick) had been miming in their live shows (to what extent I don't know either) and the Stones threatened to sue with Mick saying publicly, "That's ridiculous, we film everything". Die Welt retracted.
Weirdly, I can't find anything with Google although I did read or hear it on the internet a few years ago.

Maybe you confused it with the 1995 article by the German 'Der Spiegel' magazine "Jede Note klar und sauber" which falsely claimed that the Stones would use pre-recorded music - [www.Spiegel.de] ?
The Stones later made a statement: "On no occasion during our ‘Voodoo Lounge’ world tour did any member of our group imitate any part of their performance to pre-recorded music" - [www.Spiegel.de] .
But there's no mention that the Stones would film or record everything.
