On 17 October, Ronald Starcjewski posted a new excerpt from the sessions of Brown Sugar on 04.12.69… It seems to be a kind of monthly rendezvous.
This new excerpt is located at the end of the sessions and is, although very short, interesting to discover another step in the maturation of this extraordinary song.
We can hear that they added percussion in the intro and MJ's "yo!" on that day.
Here you will find the audio rip from the original upload and my slightly reworked version
Thanks to nzb who point me at this new upload.

Brown Sugar take 8 :
Posted on 25th November 2024 by Ronald Starcjewski: a big thanks to him (and to BT2G who point me as this new post)
Here Ronald Starcjewski comments:
….
From Muscle Shoals 12/3/69. They took a short break while Keith and Mick played around with the arrangement, but only made a couple of small changes. This was the next take after the break. There are two sources for the recordings at Muscle Shoals. Stanley Booth, using a portable tape recorder, made recordings all three nights. The Maysles were only there the final night, but were not allowed to film the actual recording or overdubbing of the songs; just the playback after. Stanley was allowed to record while the Stones were actually recording, not just the playbacks. The actual music played in the film Gimme Shelter from the playbacks was overdubbed with more polished versions. However, the original audio, including the chatter between playbacks, still exists. There are almost two hours of it. This includes the hotel footage while they were listening to rough mixes. The person who had the collection of Booth recordings is no longer with us. I have no idea if they even still exist. Over the course of a couple years, I was invited to visit the collector and was able to hear the Booth recordings. I made very detailed notes while listening to those tapes. I estimate that the collector had at least four or five hours recorded on the tapes. The recordings I posted were made using my mobile, during a couple different visits, while the collector went out for a smoke. The recordings posted here were trimmed from longer recordings. I was sworn to secrecy, but when I learned of the collector’s passing last summer I made the decision to put these up.
….
Here you will find the original version ripped from YT and my slightly reworked version.

Has the accuracy of these facts ever been verified?

I've read hundreds of books on the Stones and spent 20+ years on this and other boards, and I've never heard or read anything that supports what Starcjewski writes.

He presents you with the goods. How much more accurate do you want it? There is a big group of collectors that possess goods that haven’t been made available outside their circles. Like the Undercover outtakes that came out some time ago. I believe the story about the secrecy etc.

Here Ronald Starcjewski comments:

Mixing Brown Sugar at Muscle Shoals on December 4th 1969. Recorded by the Maysles Brothers for the documentary Gimme Shelter, but not used. I edited this down from a couple hours of audio. Two other songs were mixed in this session.

Here you will find two versions
- the original YT versions
- a reworked version (declicked by BT2G) then equalized, phased and upgraded with spectral recovery
