Is there an unfaded Time Waits For No One in CD quality?

I have the Japanese SACD of IORR with the unfaded version. But I can't rip the SACD. I would like to have a normal 44.1 kHz 16 bit flac file. Is this available somewhere? I found a bootleg ("It's Only Goats head Soup" or so) but there it is from vinyl with scratch noises in the ending. Is there a clean version?

As far as I remember there was no problem ripping the
Japanese SACD with Exact Audio Copy.

I had some of the UK SACDs years back (but not iorr) and ripped them to my PC using Nero6. I was able to burn to cdrs and playback on my stereo.

I'm not sure if the burns were still SACD or flac but they played ok and sounded good....and still do, so....

This is an SACD only disc, no hybrid. There is no normal CD layer. It is almost impossible to rip it. You would need an old PlayStation or a special old bluray player.

I guess mine were hydrids then. Also, if I remember rightly I could only get the Decca releases - ie. The London years, Metamorphosis etc.

You could try Norbert's suggestion.

No, no chance. Computer drives do not even recognize SACDs...

I just googled 'convert sacd to flac' - there are quite a few positive answers?

I'm awfully sorry, I guess you're right! I checked my versions - and the one I was thinking of is NOT the SACD version
but this one (which also features the slower Fingerprint File):

The Rolling Stones – It's Only Rock 'N Roll
Label: Rolling Stones Records – UICY-40166, Polydor – UICY-40166
Format: CD, Album, Reissue, Special Edition, UHQCD x MQA

I've also got this CD with the 6:31 version of TWFNO:
The Rolling Stones – Time Waits For No One (Anthology 1971-1977)
Label: Rolling Stones Records – UICY-78939, Rolling Stones Records – UICY-78939K, Polydor – PROT-1247
Format: CD, Compilation, Reissue, Remastered, Stereo, SHM-CD

Hopefully, I could be of help now...

I found this one on Amazon.de [www.amazon.de]
I think this is the one. So I'll order it. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for that hint! There it is indeed, I've completely forgotten about that!

Wrong choice. This one is based on 2009 brickwalled remaster. It has usual version of TWFNO with fade. And it sounds awful. BTW, Star Star on that compilation is censored version.

If you need physical format (a CD) head here
[www.cdjapan.co.jp]
Same tape transfer as SACD but ordinary CDDA format 44kHz/16bit.

And once again. Here is the list of Japanese only SACD and SHM-CDs prepared from flat transfers of the original master tapes.

Let me get back to this one more time. Just for my understanding.

So the long unfaded "Time Waits For No One" is only on the Japanese SHM CD of the IORR album (different releases 2013-2020).
The later released (2020) Time Waits For No One CDs are all from the 2009 remasters and contain the faded version. Also the Japanese one.

Correct.
And be aware. There is Japanese SHM-CD IORR that was released for the whole world (July 7, 2023). It has catalogue number UICY-79243K (watch for letter K) and barcode 600753916025. It is from 2009 brickwalled remaster and with TWFNO faded. This one is widely available.

The problem is - it looks almost like the correct one. I.e., 2020 Japanese only reissue UICY-79243 (no letter K in catalog number) and barcode 4988031397565.

If you want the correct version - head for cdjapan. Here is a link

Thanks for explaining! I think I stick with my SACDs from 2011/12 and will not buy another set of CDs. Because when I buy one I feel the necessity to get them all... And I have already too many...
And I have a flac file of the long TWFNO now.
