I will attend the show in Santa Clara, CA. As I can see, we have a taper shortage, so if someone can give me a short instruction how do i do it, I will record that show. I won't have a very good position. Also, I'm going to the show alone, so I can only bring my phone.

Give it a try. At the very least upgrade the microphones. The phone mic not very good.

Great topic. Pre 9/11 I could walk into a venue and there'd be a lite search. No biggie. Now there' a full pat down, etc. How do you bring in your equipment without being caught,etc? Seems tough now.

Would love to tape again since I've been going to a lot of shows lately, but would hate to pay for a ticket, but just to kicked out!?!

Full patdowns are not a problem. Metal and weapon detectors more challenging g especially when used together. This is not the forum to discuss that. Obviously there are ways to do it or I wouldn't have recorded 250 shows in the last 18 months from stadiums to major festivals to clubs. I will also say the methods used differ from venue to venue so if I tell you how to get into one venue it might not work in another. Just remember in the US they are primarily looking for guns and weapons. Taping gear is neither.

At Hyde park in 2022, the guy on the gate allowed me to take in my crisps (chips - US) but not my fig rolls? ... ...It's actually true - minor twilight zone moment.

I did start thinking, ah, good point but then I remembered they let me take in bottles of water too....clonking Mick on the 'ead with one of those wouldn't have gone down too well............
