Just indicating that rskinno's uploads lack of precision: lineage, job done, wondering why one can't test with EAC if its lossy or not, and so on.
That's what I'm missing.
And especially, not respecting the tapers' wishes
Sure rskinno wouldn't be able to share anything at Dime or TTD, where lots of us are glad to find real tapers.
That said, if you're satisfied and happy with that, why not?
PS: See, this time, maybe he wrote where he got it from!
Ross Albert with daughter concerts: Atlanta GA USA June 7, 2024
Forgot to say YouTube, but indicated Here is a Sony video recording, with the same sound.
That's an improvement, isn't it?><

just a quick comment, its more than twice, the last couple of tours also have been done without consent, against the tapers wishes, one of the reasons daspyknows and fellow tapers have not posted their recordings here.
what herve is pointing out is that rsk is taking lossy material from youtube, without any attribution (lineage), making a wav and converting to flac (not always successfully), converting lossy material this way is not magically making it lossless, its what is known as polluting the trading pool, if you remember the days of trading tapes in the post. Herve is having to check everything because he doesn't trust what is made available and trust is at the centre of this argument.
none of rsk's material would be accepted at the torrent sites because it doesn't meet any of the standards required by them, garbage in garbage out.
people have to therefore download at their risk as to what they are getting. If your content with lossy material that's fine, you just have to hope that having spent the time downloading, it will play ok, obviously in herve's eac extract, not always the case and if you still burn to cd not at all.

use the search function, go here for an example "Best sounding recording from 2022 tour". So more than twice
also suggest you read up on how to document a recording, eg. etree.
the basics, its called an INFO file, usually in txt format.
artist/date/location
lineage > location> equipment used>processing
track list
notes
to repeat, no info file then the upload would be banned on torrent sites such as dime/ttd etc
rsk has been doing this for years, by now he should know that an info file is a prerequisite. It doesn't matter what language it is in, except ignorance is no excuse.

hj3009 - there are two seperate issues here - taping without consent and inadequate cataloging/documentation.
I've made my point about taper's consent or lack of it - except once recently, it hasn't happened on this site for at least 9 years.
About the documenting of the technical stuff. If it bothers you that much why don't get creative and reach out and try and help improve the way rsk catalogues and presents?....As I say, if it bothers you (or anyone else) that much...?
Ps. I don't think rsk is native English speaker either.
Some people live their lives inflicting nothing but destructive criticism, others offer constructive criticism.

See my edited post.Destructive or constructive, that's the question!
And I would like to ask one more question, how many of us, here at IORR, did ever upload something @ Dime, TTD, EL or elsewhere or share something here @ IORR, or even said "Thank You", how many only beg for WeTransfer? Just have a look... So sad about that, just have a look "views" and "posts"...
That's why I stopped sharing with people with low ratio @ Dime, TTD , and so on, changing their "user account" as soon as possible... Just to get as much as possible from "kind" people.
Hope you can understand it...
