Its not your recording. You just pissed all over a recording to add as you put it more oomph whatever that means. That's the point.

People would respect what you do more if you even brought your phone and recorded that yourself. Its not that hard to do. Just try instead of taking someone else's recording and putting your name on it.

It's not your recording either. It's also not your music. If anything, it would be Dan's task to object remaster jobs by third parties, not to speak of the rude vocabulary you use.

Also, rskinno does not even claim it's his recording, he clearly mentioned the name of the original taper. If people like his remaster, they will keep it. If they don't, they will delete the files. No harm to anyone, except to you and your petty morals maybe.

Well, that's not unexpected given your username.....I was always taught it was "abcd".....

It was Abcd... till I got banned (quite) a few years ago. Iirc I got into a personal intense fight with Freezer aka Art Parr and BV decided to kick us out both.
I came back as Dcba, Parr died, so I guess I won (in a way).

Maybe tapers got infected by Rskinnonoia and erased their tapes to save them from falling into his hands. Whatever. The possibilities are endless.

Old-dog up to his old tricks. They all sound quite good, that's not the issue.

No need to erase them. Just keep them with people who respect the tapers wishes. Has nothing to do with ownership of anything.

Now add expenses and those are all good reasons why taping can be a difficult thing.

There are thousands upon thousands of recordings that have never been released. A LOT of people recorded shows just to do it with no interest or knowledge of the wider culture. A lot of the mystery drive stuff may have never surfaced if not for a chance meeting in 1994.

I used to take great effort to track this stuff down but now that I am buried in media and more interested in podcasts and history documentaries than music, not to mention the rapidly declining target audience, I have given that a rest.

Now if anything gets me to exit it's that once you release something you are beholden to provide it for anyone who wants to hear it in perpetuity and reduced to merely running an "on demand" site. I have hundreds of repost requests I am not even looking at and once the mystery drive project comes to an end in a few weeks I will likely be taking a long break.

Beside the annoying story about putting good recordings immediately on commercial boots, the number of tapers definetly became smaller. It's a dying guild, using proper gear to audio tape.
I know so many ex-taper in europe, who focus on just going to the shows nowadays, the remaining number of active tapers are smaller than the ones who stopped.
