POST: Complement to the Maidenlane series: 1987.07.03 - Lone Star Cafe (1st show)
COMPLEMENTS
To The Maidenlane Recordings SERIES
As a supplement to the Maidenlane recordings series, I offer you some reworked concert versions of shows that were ‘already in circulation’.
These shows came to mind while comparing them to the Maidenlane recordings. We are grateful to the original tapers who recorded and shared them with us and I also would like to thank nzb for his help (his advice, judgements and expertise have been invaluable to me).

Line-up: MT (gtr, voc)/Max Middleton (keyb)/Wayne Hammond (bass, voc)/Mike Cullen (dr)/Angelo (perc on 'Can't You Hear Me Knocking')
01 - tuning (until 1’12 solely source #1 then mix)
02 - Giddy Up
03 - Hot Water Music
04 - Blues In The Morning
05 - Goin’ South
06 - Soliloquy (solely source #1)
07 - band introduction (solely source #1)
08 - Can’t You Hear Me Knocking
Bonus: some merged parts
(left channel: source #1 – right channel: source #2)
09 - Hot Water Music
10 - Blues In The Morning
11 - long improvised intro for ‘Can’t You Hear Me Knocking’
For this show we have two recordings. The ‘source #1’ coming from nzb is the more complete. Mine (‘source #2’) has a better sound but misses ‘Soliloquy’ and the band introduction.
I decided to make a mix from both sources (of course not for the parts missing on my version).
To give it a little more interest I added, as a bonus, some merged parts.
As usual the sources are edited, declicked, channels equilibrated and the speed synchronized.
Note that the banter after ‘Goin’ South’ was missing on both recordings.
As usual I used a lot the infos taken from The Mick Taylor Complete Works Database by Nico Zentgraf: [
