Before 2009, every release of Goats Head Soup on CD was not censored.
In 2009 there were the "UK masters" (not censored) and "US masters" (censored) used for CD releases in the USA and Germany. The USA was only issued the censored "Star Star." Europe was issued the censored "Star Star" and an uncensored "Star Star."
The 2009 uncensored "Star Star" has guitar distortion during the John Wayne line but not overdubbed vocals as on the original US LP. The guitar distortion isn't as loud on the 2009 uncensored "Star Staras the US LP either.
After 2009, all Goats Head Soup CDs contained the uncensored version of "Star Star," except for the 2014, and maybe some Japanese reissues.
Goats Head Soup UICY-76138 Japan CD from "The Rolling Stones Japan Commemoration: Mid-Price Catalog Campaign" contained the censored "Star Star."

As it looks at the moment, all UM/Polydor editions mastered in 2009 no matter country of origin came with censored version of Star, Star. The question only is - how is it censored?.
It might be censored:
- in two spots 'pu**y' (1.30-1.32) and 'John Wayne' (2.58-3.02). Already mentioned in this thread

The question of censorsip is still open because nobody return with confirmation. They might be censored in two spots or only for 'John Wayne'.
All this censorship on CD is very simple. You read booklet and back cover. As soon as you see UM/Polydor 2009 and Mastered by Stephen Marcussen and Stewart Whitmore credits - the disc will contain censored Star, Star. The way it is censored - in two spots or only for John Wayne - is a question that can be resolved only by listening and comparing matrices.

I can't find any confirmation about the mastering used for UICY-78087 (2016).
They included this sticker in some or all issuances of GHS UICY-78087.
The logo and "The Rolling Stones" sit on a clear background.

Here is a bit of detective work. If you'll check Sticky Fingers UICY-78087 and Exile UICY-78086 you'll see that the back cover carries the following catalog numbers
For Sticky Singers UICY-20078
For Exile UICY-20079
I.e., Sticky Fingers UICY-78087 is repackage of Sticky Singers UICY-20078 and Exile UICY-78086 is repackage of Exile UICY-20079. It looks that the only thing they changed is catalog number on the spine and on OBI.
There are no doubts that Goats Head Soup UICY-78087 is repackage for Goats Head Soup UICY-20178 (although, there are no images on discogs).
So, you know, it is the same old good 2009 remaster. It is not clear how Star Star is censored - in two spots or only for John Wayne - but that is the question for those who own the CD.

Isn't it strange / weird that on Goats Head Soup from the The Rolling Stones Studio Albums Vinyl Collection 1971-2016, Star Star did not have any censored parts on it and there is still on the vinyl our beloved P**sy and our great western hero John Wayne are to hear.

It was nice price reissue of 43 Rolling Stones albums connected to the appearance of Blue And Lonesome. This disc came with 2009 remaster. Star, Star (this is my guess, because I do not have the CD) is, most probably, censored one way or another.Quote
