If you want uncensored get the 1994 Virgin disc. Go to Discogs.com
Censorship there is minor. Just weird sound effects were added in the vicinity of words 'pu**y' and 'John Wayne'.Quote

Star Star would be a really short song if it were censored.

I do not think any old CBS CD had censored Star Star. Maybe that was a misunderstanding and a mix up with UM 2009 reissue.
I do not know all details about that 2009 remaster/reissue. Some of UM discs were with censored version, some were with normal.
Positively censored version was reissued on Time Waits for No One: Anthology 1971-1977 [UICY-78939]. This is SHM-CD in mini LP sleeve. Nothing special about the music (2009 remaster was used as a source), but surely a nice toy for a collector of stamps. As well as the rest of the series that was issued in 2019 in Japan and became available for the ROW at bargain prices in 2020.
1. Sticky Fingers (Spanish version) [1971] [UICY-78937]
2. Made in the Shade [1975] [UICY-78938]
3. Time Waits for No One: Anthology 1971-1977 [1979] [UICY-78939]
4. Sucking in the 70's [1981] [UICY-78940]
5. Rewind 1971-1984 (European version) [1984] [UICY-78941]

My 1986 CBS CD GHS has the uncensored Star Star
My 1994 Virgin CD GHS has the uncensored Star Star
My 2009 Universal CD GHS has the censored, like the original LP, Star Star, and as a collector, I'm glad to have this early UM version.
Same CD matrix number as pictured above
I don't have yet the UM with the uncensored version, but since it's available on other CDs, there's no urgency to get it
By the way my 1986 CBS vinyl LP has the uncensored version of Star Star
Well, guess they messed things around.Quote

My quotes are from SHTV. They never put catalog numbers in their post or matrix numbers.

The UMe GHS from 2009 must be a clone reissued in Time Waits for No One 2009.
You can check EU version from the discography. You have that one.Quote

I wonder if each release of GHS UMe 2009 has the censored Star Star.

After I wrote the word 'never' I thought you put catalog numbers in your posts and more. Sometimes idk if they are talking about an LP or CD.
Well, guess they messed things around.
Or maybe there was one I am not aware of. Let's see.
CBS Japan for Europe edition [CDCBS 450207 2] 1986-1987, Matrices DIDP-10589 11 +++++ or DIDP-10589 11 A1 +++++ - uncensored
CBS European edition (Made in Austria) [450207 2] 1987-1993, Matrix CDCBS-450207 22 A5 (actually, no matter stampler A6, C1, C2, D9 etc.) - uncensored
CBS Japanese editions form 1986 [32DP602], 1989 [23DP5571] and 1992 [SRCS-6206], no matter matrices and stamplers - uncensored.
Actually, all mentioned above are digital clones.
WOW! Great information.
Now for the US CBS
There are at least 4 pressings.
1. Early Sony's Digital Audio Disc Corp., Terre Haute, Indiana. Matrix DIDP 70288 11A6 (or similar, depending on the stampler code Ax). Apparently, in press from December 1986 till 1988.
2. Japan for USA, JVC pressing, matrix CK 40492 V2E1. This one supposed to be 1987 (judging matrix style).
3. Columbia Records, Pitman, New Jersey. Matrix 1A CK40492 01 CMU P73 or similar. This one was issued after 1988.
4. Late Sony's Digital Audio Disc Corp., Terre Haute, Indiana. Matrix DIDP 070288 8 (or similar). This is relatively late pressing, probably, post-1990.
Maybe one of those has censored version. But I sincerely doubt it.
I doubt it too.Yes.Quote

Thanks. There's no sense for me to collect the same exact recording over again unless I'm a stamp collector.
I remember buying the Time Waits for No One album when it was released. I thought it was a great collection of songs. Was this album an import to the US?Quote

There was no way to tell on the cover as far as I know. There may have been indication on the disc (i.e. matrix #) but I'm not sure.
My US copy = Matrix / Runout (Variant 3): DIDX-222140 3 = uncensored
My EU copy = Matrix / Runout: 06025 270 156-0 01 * 52294809 = censored

From Rarities Done Right:
Goats Head Soup
1973 US LP early pressings Matrix/Runout ( Side B ): COC-59101 B
Star Star [censored, no ‘pussy’] (4:26) aka Starf_cker
An alternate version that censors the phrase “I bet you keep your pussy clean”
by obfuscating it with other lyrics.
My understanding, and all I've ever heard was, the censoring with the obfuscated lyrics. I've never heard the actually edit out of the P word.
Where can that be found? I've not heard of early LP pressings with such an edit
thanks

I've read different things where people tell us some of the UMe CDs are censored and some are not. I'm trying to find a UMe CD where Star Star is not censored. So far, all UMe CDs have the censored Star Star.
In the U.S. my copy was uncensored. I heard some in the U.S. got a censored version, but I had to swap with someone in Germany to get the censored version. There was no way to tell on the cover as far as I know. There may have been an indication on the disc (i.e. matrix #) but I'm not sure.

I have always thought it’s a pretty mediocre song musically, and don’t know how it enhances or detracts from the song if you can’t hear those lyrics
