I was thank-god lucky enough to see Jeff Beck in at least 10 different lineups starting in 1969. While BBA was not my favorite, they positively astonished me on several occasions, most notably one very very late evening at the Tower Theater.
This Felt Forum show was only the third concert I ever recorded and suffers from rookie mistakes like running out of tape for the encore. Sorry. The fidelity is less than stellar but for years I could hardly believe I actually saw what I was listening to on the tape. I've also attached the Lenny Kaye review of this show which ran in Rolling Stone magazine.
Dave Edmunds once said his greatest memory in rock and roll was watching Jeff tune his guitar while preparing to record "Sleepwalk". Hilarious high praise.
This week every guitar on the planet is gently weeping...as am I.
