MICK TAYLOR
26th APRIL - 14th MAY 1990
This series is dedicated to Mick Taylor 1990 tour of Europe (or to be more precise - the German spoken countries West-Germany, East-Germany, Austria and Switzerland).
A big thank you to all the people who recorded these shows and who shared them and to my two accomplices nzb and Jaap (Stonesmuziekfan) who gave me the benefit of their versions of these shows and their advice and support ... and therefore without whom this project would not have been possible.
Line-up: MT (gtr, voc)/Blondie Chaplin (gtr, voc)/Wilbur Bascomb (bass)/Eric Parker (dr)/Max Middleton (keyb)
VOLUME 02:
28th April 1990
WUNSIEDEL
East-West Festival
28th April 1990: Wunsiedel, West-Germany, Fichtelgebirgshalle, 'East-West Festival'
The gig was broadcast live by some German radio station.
01 - Intro and tuning
02 - I Wonder Why
03 - Laundromat Blues
04 - Semolina
05 - Goin' South
06 - Red House (in 2 parts)
07 - You Gotta Move
08 - Little Red Rooster
09 - Band introduction
For this recording we had two versions coming from the radio broadcast.
I used mine called ‘East & West” (MC 097) which has a better spectrum and was not so hissy as nzb’s version (IMHO someone used a sound filter to decrease the background noise and then added treble). I kept only the intro and outro from nzb’s recording.
Note that ‘Red House’ was cut in two parts at 4’53 - now they’re reconnected and there is a fade in/out after ‘You Gotta Move’ (encore break) but no music has been lost.
The picture used on the front cover was taken by Bernd Schweinar in Nuremberg.
