Normally a very good command-line/shell program without install: youtube-dl - [ytdl-org.github.io] .

From time to time updates are required since YouTube internally changes things which do prevent downloads.

But there seems to be an issue with your Bowie-Video: even the latest version of YT-dl from 31-Mar-2021 won't download this Video (unable to extract player URL / No video formats found).

I too use 4K Video Downloader and works fine for me plus it's free but if you want to do more without limits you can pay for it.
I also use 4K YouTube to MP3 from same company to get audio from youtube videos.

Thanks everyone but irix says it seems the problem was the actual vid and not my program.

Looks like YouTube had changed something internally. I did a bug-report to YT-dl yesterday (there were similar also from others) and YT-dl published a new version of their program on 1-Apr-2021.

However, I downloaded the current installation file JDownloaderSetup.exe but the Virus Protection Software classified a component as not safe :-(

If you use Firefox as you web browser, there are many free add-ons and extensions that may be used to download YouTube videos.

The same goes for downloading audio-only mp4 files from YouTube videos.

All are free.

JDownloader works fine. You're probably using Windows and it's being over cautious. Several people on this board use it as well.
