Good point ! Compare the GHS Deluxe "Criss Cross" and the one we're getting here ;-)

Part Of The Night, EAC Check from my silvers.
Is this Lossless or lossy?

Just received the digipack from Italy.
Unfortunately, yes, the silver CDs are engraved from a lossy source.

So we are sure now that the bootleggers have only mp3 files in their hands.

Mp3 bootlegs are OK for free download.
But I'm pissed off to have paid CDs engraved with mp3 quality for 50 euros.

This is CD #3.
15 files are probably from only 128 kbps mp3 source.
The last two ones (Studio jam 2002) are from 320 kbps source.

It seems logical the 2002 Suresnes track come from a different source and have a different bitrate from the rest.

Having paid for it you have every right to have expected better. It’s unfortunate they only had low bitrate to work with. I tend to agree with Erik that these were likely hacked off a server that had quick access samples of what can be found in a particular ‘vault’. It’s still a fun listen if shrill in some spots but we’ve had our share of shrill audience recordings as well!

Oh my god! Did they force you to buy the CD?!? It's terrible! If I were you, i'd file a report at your local policestation. This is the WORST news i heard in years. You bought a CD and IT WASN'T WHAT YOU EXPECTED! MP3 should be FREE!!

Well heres another twist, at some point someone, I forget who, posted that there was an upgraded source version coming out on Mayflower label, and sure enough, a few days later this Mayflower label version appeared on ebay, for a pretty hefty price increase over the previous Black Frisco Records issue. No description beyond a photo and a few words about beware of imitations.

I would like to see a similar frequency response graphic for that version. Wonder if it truly is any better. I would tend to doubt it but the fact that someone here predicted a release on that label makes me think maybe there is something to it.

PS: that graphic actually, to me, shows a pretty decent job of sound reproduction, even if the top is chopped off a little bit. At least its not totally brickwalled.

Mayflower has never released anything except copies of other bootlegs or copies of torrents shared by fans here and on torrent-trackers. Never any new sources. The only "good" side of that is that they don't downgrade the recordings with brickwalling or poor EQing like some labels do. But it's always old news.

Like I posted in Tell Me, it's always nice to see a detailed review, but this one has so many obvious errors (on which planet was SW released with "Giving it Up" or VL with "Ivy League" ?!) The author should have asked the author of the IORR thread he alludes to for a quick proofread.

EDIT - Review has now been updated and the errors corrected, well done to the author for following up and giving credit ;-)

For those who still own an Apple iPod - RS Fully Finished Studio Outtakes (Apple Lossless - ALAC) - [we.tl] .

Should work on Apple iPhone/iPad too. Tags/Metadata like Cover-picture, Album-name, Track-names, etc added/updated.

I'm late to the party here, so please forgive me if this has already been discussed ad nauseam, but are there any verified *lossless* sources of the Fully Finished Studio Outtakes? If so, can someone please direct me toward a current link for downloading them? Thank you.
