Hi all,

a friend of mine thought that he had EVERY commercial 60's UK-CD release with the exception of 'No. 2', which seems to have been released in many other countries but NOT in the UK.

Can anybody confirm that 'No. 2' has NEVER been released in the UK?

No.2 on CD was officially released three times in Japan on London/Polydor K.K
P33L 25015 (1987), P25L 25033 (1989), POCD 1913 (1995). All contain the same mastering and mixture of mono and stereo tracks

Recently it was re-released in Japan in mono only (the same mastering as in In Mono box) as SHM-CD UICY-79333 (2020)

In Europe and in the ROW No.2 was officially released on CD only once - as a part of In Mono box (2016).

So if your friend has CD from the box - it is official (unless it is from Chinese counterfeit box). Otherwise - it is bootleg.

The new Japanese stand-alone CD reissue is probably the most faithful to the original UK release which was all mono. [www.discogs.com]

I bought this download album in february 2021, it got something like 'electronicly reprozessed stereo', but my copies (mp3 and wav) have been full of errors and dropouts ! I got my money back, hopefully they got new download tracks now. ENSBTL is the U.S. "NOW" version and was never included on "No. 2".
I'm writing about the release from 06/01/2021 by TP4 Music! I'm sure, all other versions will be ok, QUBUZ is a top company!
