No. The reports about faulty DVD came from the whole world. It seems to be a manufacturers defect. Although it seems to be random.

In any case, one can try to rip the disc using DVD Decrypter. That program is using different reading algorithm. Thus, maybe it will be possible to read through the errors.

BTW. The concert is the same. It is old good 1991 DVD w/o video restoration. At least if they done some - I was not able to detect.

Thanks for your email, and as I as I assumed it was the 1991 official DVD that I have for years. The old version was send out to stonesvault mailinglist two weeks ago. I will pass on the "Box version"so members of Stonesvault can see for themselves and look for anything different.
In my opinion not even a duster cloth.

You are welcome. I found some differences - they add 2020 credits at the end. The rest is the same IMHO. Maybe sound is a bit different too, but I am not sure.

Yes, apart from the credits the same.

Today i tried my DVD from the boxset and seemed liek it worked fine.
So i gueess not all DVD have an issue.

I got mine from Amazon Canada.

I did find odd that the DVD did not include the 3 extra songs on the DVD.

Actually, it is not about amazon but about pressing plant.
What are the matrix number and IFPI codes for your DVD?

This one was reported to be faulty
Matrix 538588065 17 A00
SID Mastering code IFPI L557 (on the inner mirror band)
SID Mould code IFPI 942W (pressed on the hub on clear plastic, maybe you will need a lens and bright light to see it)
Judging IFPI codes it is a product of Sony DADC plant in Austria

I have send a email (see below) to JPC.de about Keith Richards DVD, my CD has the same lost intro from Whip It Up as everybody.

There is a problem, the DVD is not playable, not on my PC, not on my external Blu-ray player and not on my Home system.
It is there fore not up to my equipment, because those are three separate devices.

How are we going to solve this.

The good old DVD Decrypter fixed for the moment the problem, he allowed a good rip and i did burn the dvd with AShampoo Burning Studio 16.
Ignore any error messages and just burn.
Now i have to wait for a silver replacement.


Strangely enoiugh my DVD was playing on my external Blu-ray again after an extremely slow DVD rip via DVD Decrypter. On my regular DVD-player it does not start up and on my Home system it does not continue in the menu as Time Is On My side.
The ripped DVDr (clone) plays perfectly on all three of my devices.

Here still no news from JPC.de.

I think the problem is that if you get a new box from JPC or others stores you'll receive again a DVD with the same error.
