Does anybody know, if "The Promotional Album" from 1969 contains diffrent versions of Prodigal Son and Love In Vain? I've read something in Roy Carr's book about it, but couldn't find anything on Nico's page or elsewhere. I know, there are 2 versions (UK & US), but maybe both include the normal mono versions.

Actually, Prodigal Son is in stereo everywhere (but In Mono box and mono LPs). But it is extremely narrow stereo and it was considered as mono far ages. To find stereo component one should listen closely to harmonica.

Special mix on Promotional Album is an old 'urban legend'. I believe it was dismissed some time ago.

On my LONDON RSD-1 Blue label is mentioned "STEREOPHONIC"
on sleeve is mentioned RSD-1 STEREO.

'Promo men' were good even in 1969. One should decide by himself which version is included - mono or stereo. Because LK catalog # stands for mono while SKL - for stereo .
As far as I remember on the other site (Rolling Stones Collectors Cave) it was reported that RSM.1 is all way mono. For RSD-1: Side 1 - Electronically Reproduced Stereo, Side 2 - Stereo (normal one).

ironbelly, I do know that LK (red label)is mono and SKL (blue label)is Stereo. I've both collection Decca. R.S. 1 and 2 are only in mono.
Must I do a whole desription of the LP's? No. Everyone who collect LP's knows that.

I only wanted to say what's mentioned on the label of RSM.1 (for this 2 songs)

tioms, I am just pointing out that in 1969 'promo people' did there work like their heirs do nowadays. I.e. providing confusing information on the back covers and booklets.

A note [From 'Beggars Banquet' LK./SKL. 4955] on the label is of 'Schrodinger cat' type - you will never know stereo or mono until you listen to it .

Surely, collectors know the thing, but for ordinary person this must be a bit confusing.
