i have that great show on VHS but the player is all dead by now.

That' s not correct. I don' t have a premium account but only a free account and I was able to download the big file too. I did get it in 70 minutes with about 1 MB/s of speed. After that I unzipped it and spliced it into three parts for my new upload to Wetransfer above. So this way works for a free user too.

I have been told more than once about having a free account and be able to download large files within reasonable time.
4GB in 70 minutes isn't too bad is it ?
Don't know why they simply don't sign up for free membership.

bec my burning software tells me that standard 4,7 GB DVD is not sufficient, more space required

VIDEO_TS folder size is 4.30 GB, so yes, it's a single layer (4.37 GB is the maximum)

but still both my DVD softwares (on different PCs) tell me i need more space
i always use Verbatim profucts (CD, DVD) but here it does not work
