The CHARLIE WATTS ORCHESTRA
1985 to 1987
This series is dedicated to another Charlie Watts sidestep: The Charlie Watts Orchestra.
Thanks to the original recorders and especially to nzb and Jaap (Stonesmuziekfan) who provided me their recordings, gave critic and advice regarding my work … so without whom this project wouldn’t have been possible!
VOLUME 4:

31st October 1986: THE CHARLIE WATTS ORCHESTRA. Berlin, West-Germany,

The line-up is not 100% sure but according to the other shows it's most probably:

/Alan Cohen (arranger, conductor)
Note: The whole show was recorded and filmed by German TV and radio and broadcast on SFB1 and RIAS in early 1987 and telecast on Nord 3 in April
CD1:
01 - intro by the German reporter from SFB1
02 - Stompin’ At The Savoy
03 - Robbin’s Nest
04 - Lover Man
05 - See You C.B.
06 - Jumpin’ With Symphony Sid
CD2:
01 - Midnight Sun
02 - Lester Leaps In
03 - Flying Home (rebuild)
04 - outro by the German reporter
All versions were coming from the TV or the radio sources but only nzb’s version is the least compressed. To give also a little more interest I kept the intro and the outro from the german reporter from Berlin’s SFB1 radio (this version is a little more longer than the one broadcasted by RIAS radio).
To complete « Flying Home » I used the two last minutes from a RDP remastered version. This segment is in mono and the lineage is unknown.
I amplified the sound (+4db), deleted little noises and microgaps, dehissed the silent parts and reworked the transitions between the tracks.
As usual all the infos are taken from The Complete Works Of The Rolling Stones database by Nico Zentgraf: [
