First impression, when I listen to Brown Suger, it sounds fresh and good with a lower generation than the DAC192 than the “Philadelphia Project”. Maybe it will be the result of EQ mastering, but I think the original sound source is good. This is amazing Thank you.~I've been listening to it since then, but it's really amazing. Perhaps an analog board in good condition has been ripped with a laser turntable or the like? The original sound source seems to be the analog "Philadelphia Special".

Would like to know where this came from. Starts off w/same tracks as "Philadelphia Special" (VGP-260; I have 2nd edition for reference) but arguably better quality with more high end. Then it apparently switches sources and some tracks have excessive noise reduction. My guess is this was assembled from various releases.

Maybe that's why I'me also having difficulties what to think about this...
Some stuff from Rattlesnake sounds better, some songs here sound better than on other releases.
Sound here is sometimes a little oversaturated/trebly...
Terrible glitch in the right channel at the beginning of "Tumbling Dice"...

This is a remaster....
I did some investigation on my HD`s, checking different versions and the best sound (of what i have is "Philadelphia Special Raw Files (V1)"
Don`t remember where i got it from, or who shared it, but i think i am gonna do a remaster of it.
Does anyone have more info considering the best source for Philadelphia `72?

Thanks, yes i have seen that one. I have checked all of what has been shared recently, including your upload. For me the best, unprocessed source is "Philadelphia Special Raw Files (V1)"

Like all other versions this also suffers from out of phase issues to my ears. Very noticeable with the crowd cheering and clapping noises.
Could be that it was originally from a reel and than transferred with a misaligned tapedeck head or something? Next best thing to a lower gen or even the reel itself would be a captain acid remaster or jems workout imho. Foremost the out of phase issues.

What do you think?

This is the version I have received in the late seventies, but this is better quality. Sweet Virginia is a diffrent version, compared to "Philadelphia Special" and taken from the evening show. Mick is here singing "...thank you for the wine California...", in the afternoon show, he had changed the lyrics to "...thank you for the wine Philadelphia...". So thank you once again for the rarer version in this quality.
