I have not heard this track 21 Reelin’ n Rockin’ but I would be very, very surprised if it was from the March 18th 1964 sessions.
Nothing from that session has ever surfaced.
I suspect the complete session is around somewhere, It’s a holy grail, but no tracks have ever come to light in the last 56 years.

I'd tend to think it's kosher as VGP/DAC have seldom released fakes or tracks with wrong attribution.

Maybe hoarders are getting old and feel it's time to pass on stuff they'd been sitting on for ages.
Y'know the cold hard hand of Death sometimes makes you feel a bit wiser and more generous...

Maybe DAC got in touch with some grandpa in Surrey who, when he was 12 taped the broadcast by pointing a crummy microphone toward the family ancient AM radio receiver. grinning smiley

Maybe DAC has the complete 14 songs "gig" and they release it bit by bit?

This makes me think of Hidepark on TV.
I specialy bought a Microphone and hang it at the speaker of the TV set.
As everybody was giving comments during the broadcast you could here me say "Houd je kop" meaning 'Shot Up'
lol

If it really is from March 18th 1964, for many it would be a much bigger event than the release of "Scarlet".

I guess it's an age thing !

If anyone has this track (21) could they please post it here on WeTransfer.

Cheers.

Maybe they remembered my post from 2009 here:

Radio Luxembourg or Chess

Maybe they got in touch with Videojames who claimed he owned the Radio Luxembourg masters.

We'll see...and hear!

Imo the chances of seeing VideoJames work with a boot label are zero or below zero. winking smiley

Well, truth can sometimes be stranger than fiction but until we'll hear the DAC-194 version it's all guesswork of course.

Could be the widely circulated "Chess" version labelled correctly if my suggestion from 2009 has substantiated in the meantime.

Could be a different version, actually recorded for Radio Luxembourg. If that's the case, it could either be an amateur off air recording or originate from the actual Radio Luxembourg masters or copies thereof.

Excitement is palpable... among the three or four persons on this planet who care for a poor/fair 56 y.o. recording. grinning smiley

However, I read a Japan review that claims Reelin and Rockin in this DAC release comes from Radio Luxembourg 18 March 64 Nestle's Top Swinging Groups. This version intro is uncut with regards to other versions found on And This Is Rhythm and Blues (DAC 115) and Reelin and Rockin (VGP 274), the latter intro was uncut too but had a slight blur.

Regarding "Reelin & Rockin'"
here is some info from atsu-y's HotStuff fanpage

Google Translate (!):

"Radio actress owned by Bill Wyman in the radio show sound source of Radio Luxembourg in March 64.
It has been recorded so far at Chicago Chess, and is recorded from the new declick remastered sound source.
Info was a hot topic in IORR, but it seems that 14 tracks were recorded in April and May in four separate episodes, according to Nico's Complete Works.
Even so, the sound quality is very good, and it is hoped that other songs will be excavated. Is it up to the building?"

"Radio actress" = "Radio acetate"?

Thank you very much Moonlight_Mile; it would have been nice if you had told us,
where this comes from: Jimbronie's upload to Electric Ladyland!

Last days I felt tempted to send some money to Japan, glad I didn't.

There is something here, which we usually don't get very often from the Stones:
"Reelin' & Rockin'" to my ears is performed exactly the same way as in Chicago ~two months later; what a feat! smoking smiley

No, I think it actually means Bill owned a radio actress. She was 13.

All great and well, but it does not solve the mystery whether "Reelin' & Rockin'" is from Chess or Radio Luxembourg. I still think it's the RL source, it simply does not have the Chess studio sound, it's more like the live-in-the-studio BBC recordings, much too rough for Chess. Also the somewhat swirling sound of the cymbals indicate a digitally cleaned up acetate as the source. Wyman's RL acetate?

Must agree to that. I just compared "Reelin' & Rockin'" from "Look What We`ve Done"_Chess Sessions_AcidProject Vol 05 Track 14. It sounds the same to me.
