Please help identifying live versions from 1972/73

Hello!

Recently I found in the drawer a CDR with the first show from Hamburg 1973;
but it included two songs which are not from Hamburg.

I feel very embarressed, but at the moment I cannot tell,
where these good sounding versions of You Can't Always Get What You Want and
Honky Tonk Women are from, please help!

1972 ?????

Okay, once more:

All other tracks on the CDR are from Hamburg first show.

YCAGWYW and HTW clearly are not!

So they should be from another place sometime around 1972 or 1973.

I'm not expert on '72-'73. I remember someone saying a way to tell the difference between '72-'73 is to listen to the keyboards. Does that make sense?

australia 73 but i don't know which show. there weren't that many shows, so i'd line them up and make a playlist of the audience recordings of just these two numbers.

Just downloaded and had a listen. Meanwhile I don't have the VGP 2CD at my present location, I immediately thought it was Melbourne.

Thanks for your help.

From what the recording sounds like I was also thinking of Australia;
but I cannot find a show that matches these two songs...

I think I checked all HTW from '73 and did not find a match.

The fact that the files run a bit fast doesn't help. Hope a (rough) speed-corrected version will help ID them.

Maybe the Jagger vocal markers could give a clue as to which gig they come from. And I may be wrong but the band seems well-oiled so they might stem from the end of Feb. 1973 (just guessing).

Thanks for the speed correction!

By the way, the recording from Hamburg is not silkcut1978_'s version;
different source, sounds horrible!
Even speed correction will not help...

That mistake by Keith in "upstairs for a ride" sounds so familiar, but I can't recall which show.

All of a sudden I thought it was HTW from London 1971 and YCAGWYW from Washington 1972, but....nope.

And as blakeeik has checked all 1973 shows, it has to be prior to that
...speed up a 1969-1971 concert to the extreme, and voilĂ , you have Europe 1973 !

I'm pretty sure these are both Melbourne, pre-VGP editing. They cut out some markers that made it difficult to identify. Rank's source is more complete than VGP or SODD versions which are obviously edited.

They always sounded like Winter tour versions, so after I exhausted all others from 1969-1973, I went back to check again.

Melbourne Feb. 17th, 1973 1st show VGP-149 CD1

Thanks, blakeeik, and what a relief....my immediate thought once again didn't fail me ! I just don't have that silver with me to get it confirmed.

Also checked again this afternoon after having a pot of coffee,
and yes it is February 17th the first show!

Congrats Erik, and thanks to dcba for slowing it down.

And thanks to blakeeik for your help!

But I think it is a different source, check the guy yelling on the intro to HTW.

Not on VGP-149 or SODD 059

I have this show in partial aud quality. I'll find it and upload it. It's very rare to even possess a copy and I remember being patient to find mine. Hopefully this is the show you're referring to as it may be that source. I just don't remember if it goes past Tumbling Dice.
