Hello everyone. I have a different question about Brussels affair. Is there a more cost effective way of getting hold of a copy? Although lots of people seem to own it already, I actually don't at the moment.... it seems to be 105 or 95 in pounds sterling for the super deluxe 3CD bluray and 4 lp versions of the reissued ghs..
Any information would be good thank you

If you do not want physical product - head for qobuz or similar download/streaminig service.
For physical releases
1. If you are not in hurry - wait till Black Friday or X-mas for sale. The price will drop for sure.
2. Amazon NL had promo campaign (or was it pricing error???). Deluxe was 19 € for a couple of days and at 30 € for another pair. I believe, some guys over here got multiple copies. So ask them or look at this option
[iorr.org]
3. Dig ebay or discogs for a copy of Japanese Marquee 71/Brussels 73 combo. It was possible to catch it half priced a year or so ago.
4. Wait and pray they will issue Brussels Affair separately at some point.

Thanks for the information, I will hope to look for a physical copy. The album goats head soup isn’t really a favourite but I am intrigued with some of the offers including 120 page book.
Anyway thanks for the info..

Both the London 9/9/73 and Brussels 10/17/73 first show are available in audience recordings. It's easy to figure out what is what from those. Besides the Brussels tracks, King Biscuit broadcast London's Gimme Shelter, Happy, Heartbreaker (They did not play this at the Brussels first show) and Street Fighting Man; these have been mixed in with the Brussels songs over the years creating confusion. KBFH also tossed in Brown Sugar from, I think Amsterdam.

Rotterdam 10/13/73. Distinguishing marker is that Mick says, "Whoo, arright" at the end. Strangely no other broadcast songs have surfaced from this concert.

No, no, no, no, no. Track 7, Heartbreaker was not played during afternoon show!
Official release has only tracks 1, 10 and 15 from the 1st (afternoon) show and Taylor's solo for track 12 from the 1st show edited in track from the 2nd show.
All other tracks are from the 2nd show. This is common knowledge and it was discussed multiple times since this version of Brussels Affair appeared as digital download on November 17, 2011.

*** By the way, Nico Zentgraf wrote on his fabulous website, that MT's guitar solo in All Down The Line was taken from the 1st show...

Good Night,

Blue

Yes, because the original guitar solo from the 2nd show as it can be heard on Back To The Graveyard is a bit failed...

Well, what the hell happened there!?!?! Did he just stop playing? Haha, bizarre.

A side question, why do some bootlegs have the sound shifting sides of the stereo spectrum? Richards' guitar was all over the place.

It was broadcasted in quadrophonic sound and the rear channel mix was diffrent to the front channels. So radio stations and bootleggers might have mixed it in diffrent ways to stereo.

Interesting. I had no idea this was broadcast in Quad. Thanks.

Did anyone ever release a Wembley '73 ONLY soundboard or is Wembley always mixed with Brussels on all of the boots?

The Wembley '73 soundboard of Mr D came out years later from the original radio broadcasts. Was the Wembley Mr D on a radio broadcast?

Well, ALL Midnight Ramblers throughout their career comes short to Brussels, so that shouldn't be a surprise....!

Dieter Hoffmann refers to the London Rambler as the "oxygen mask version"....while London Tumbling Dice is "Ain't Security" version.

We don’t have too many Wembley tracks. We need a list of the Wembley soundboards.
