Does anyone happen to have a pdf scan of the book 'According to the RS'? It's never been available as an ebook as far as I know. I'm keen to (finally) read it, but my god it's a brick!

email me if anyone can help

thanks

[www.Google.com] - doesn't look legal and it looks more interested in your CreditCard data ....

For around only 15$ I would simply buy it (Amazon f.i.)
It's a, not spectacular, but very worth having book and it looks nice on the shelf.

Yep: it looks nice on the shelf - but on the go it feels in the bag like a brick .... winking smiley

E-Books can also be read on a Smartphone and due to the search-function it's easier to find a specific information.

Paperback-Edition - [www.Amazon.co.uk] .

When the book came out I was very impressed, especially when I read that Charlie Watts was the co-editor. A few years later he said the whole book was rubbish, myths and fabrication and that he was not involved in bringing it out at all. So I am skeptical about it, and I would not recommend it. It contains nice photographs though.

Okay .... not good on giving
people advice ... prefer they find out the hard way themselves

BUT probably best you never pick
up Ethan Russell's Let It Bleed Deluxe
and take it down to the beach for a light read .....

Yes, I agree. The book is too big and heavy and the type face is too small.
I have glanced at a few times and read some of the pieces, but overall it just sits on my coffee table and looks nice.

Yeah, but most of the Taschen ones are just picture books, which is fine. ATTRS is actually something that needs to be read: I'm surprised there is no ebook.

For the mother of all heavy books...

I dunno.
Where did he say that?

I mean there are some great pics. But some nice writing as well.
Essays by people like A. Ertegun, G.Gomelsky,D.Bailey, C. Gibbs, M.Chess,Prince Rupert,Peter Wolf,Don Was,S.Crow, Tim Rice,etc.
It can't be all rubbish.

Those big books. You take a look and often forget reading .Especially when already buying the next one. I went back to it some weeks ago and there is some interesting writing. Of course not all of it.

The book has nice essays, that is right, and great photographs. Watts distanced himself from the book in an English magazine around the time A Bigger Bang came out. The book can be amusing. I do not know what happened, maybe Watts had a dispute with the editors.

Maybe he was talking about the band interviews.
Don't know about the way they were achieved.
Sometimes have some doubts about them.
