I got a similar question for some of the tracks on the Art Collins Tapes Vol. 5. Are these different versions, or previously circulating tracks with different pitch/speed/edit/eq/etc?

START ME UP 1-14 (CD 1-Track 14) and 2-18 edit of 2-1 (which is on DAC-21)

I'm still also wondering about the "Long/Short Dub" of Undercover of the Night, too, from Vol. 4. They could be the same as "Dub Version" and "single version".

Did anyone examine any of these closely?

WAITING ON A FRIEND 2-8 < same as DAC-21 track 11
HANG FIRE 1-1, 2-4 and 2-15 < same as DAC-21 tracks 17, 2, 14
HEAVEN 2-14 < same as DAC-21 track 9
TOPS 2-16 < sounds the same as 2-5 (which is on DAC-21 track 8)
BLACK LIMO 1-11, and 2-9 < same as DAC-21 track 15

Well, not really... It's the end part of the official album version that obviously was on the tape before Art Collins recorded the outtakes over it. So I'd say: Ignore and forget it!
