Thanks Folks - hope it makes the grade. Wish we had a complete stereo soundboard of this show. Often out of tune but has its charms.

Really? OK...the drummers are a bit out of sync at the beginning of Sympathy - but they pull it together by the time Keith comes in. I have always thought the setlist was really cool, which isn't really replicated again.

Official stereo remix here: From the Vault: Hyde Park 1969 [Blu-ray].

I assume DAC used it for their latest release which I don't have.

In response to DPH - I don't have the recent official Stones in the Park rerelease - I assumed it used the same sound as the old version...but apparently it all Stereo - although missing tracks. Just checked if it is in Stereo on DAC 183 - it is the audience and WLIR broadcast - mono. Unless there was another release? Sections of mine are in mono but mostly stereo and if not - merged.

Thank you!

Only just saw this vancouver! Thanks so much...
Damn - every time I try to finish Hyde Park - there is always a source that either comes out or I have overlooked - Damn! That Radio Veronica broadcast sounds really nice...OK, I will have to return to it again...doesn't render my update obsolete but would be nice for stereo merges...I don't have the time at present anyway. but I thank you!

DAC copied the stereo remix official Blu-Ray or DVD audio for DAC-164 Brian Come Back You Bastard as noted here: Hyde Park on Hot Wacks. I didn't see that version in the Stonesvault but I downloaded it at some point. Ended up keeping my Blu-Ray rip instead.

To "restore" the concert as complete as possible is a huge amount of work. I've already done that once with inferior sources to those available now, and don't think I want to do it again.

If anyone wants to tackle it, the starting point should be the stereo remix, and the Japanese (or other countries?) DVD for the incomplete mono bonus tracks unfortunately left off the remix releases, Stray Cat Blues and No Expectations. I'd recommend Radio Veronica for between songs, "In the Park" by Scorpio for audience recording songs, and "Highway to Heaven" by Dirty Work Productions for the radio broadcast songs (runs way too fast though).

Repairing the cuts in the official release is a pain. I'm Yours and I'm Hers has the "Lemon Squeezer" verse cut, and the transition to the audience recording is very jarring if you repair it. The first verse of Satisfaction is cut, and once again, the transition from the audience recording to the pro recording is jarring. Plus, there are lots of little cuts here and there. I have never even attempted to repair Sympathy but with 2/3 of it now available in true stereo, it might be worth trying.

I spent some time listening to different recordings of the concert tonight. Here's a theory: The official US and Japanese DVD/Blu-Ray releases run too slow. That's because they were recorded at 25 FPS by Granada TV and played back at 24 FPS for release, which is about a 4% difference. (I'm in the US). Maybe other countries' releases play at the correct 25 FPS speed?
