It was tough to bring any recording gear in, not to speak of reel-to-reel monsters (comparatively small, though), I can tell you - a friend of mine from back then recorded the first two shows (All The Girls In Frankfurt, if anybody is able to remember...). Security was tight. Not only at the entrance! Add to that a wild audience and hordes of drunken/drugged out GI's who agressively sought their way to the front of the stage throughout the show plus a poor sound in the hall due to PA speakers hanging down from the top it is a small miracle that any listenable recordings at all could be done at the Frankfurt '82 shows.

This trilogy is imo more exciting than the official release of the 1982 tour...
And Captain do you know how the taper managed to sneak in this monster of a recorder into the venue?
