Shall we assume that the missing discs (1-3,7-11,13,14) will be totally or partially included in the next OBR releases?

Don't know about that but I assume we'll get to hear the rest of the Collins tapes provided :

- we do't get killed by the Covid-19
- we all live till the age of 80.

If these two conditions are fulfilled we might get to hear the rest of the stuff!

Yes fantastic as it is. Love this release, Ok if there are missing volumes Then fine but perhaps a track list of whats not been released would be suffice .Respect what collectors have and want to keep as is their right .I would only like to know what is out there.

Time waits for No one...........

There's a list of the tracks shared by Werther2003.
Did someone notice something wrong with the name of some of them ?
I mean we all know that some name of tracks were temporary, the complete list would be great if someone could do it.confused smiley

Dumb question but what are these recordings?

These are apparently tapes that were part of Art Collin's estate and that were sold on eBay ?) in the mid-2000s and bought by a group of Dutch (?) collectors. It took them a while to trickle down. Thanks again for everything Mr.D !

Does anyone have any idea where the 3 instrumentals 5-07, 5-08, and 5-09 originate from?

If you're looking to burn to CD-R, apparently many software burners will convert to CDA format automatically. I admit that I haven't tried it yet:

Ok dont know what the big secret is if you have additional tracks. Please keep them to yourself. But if you could only identify what is out there then that would be a cool step. So come forward if you have addiional knowledge and can share the info.

Update !!! -This message was not at aimed Mrd but to those collectors who have uncirculated stuff. Youy know who you are.Appreciate MrD has given us everything he had thumbs up

The files shared here are lossy. Upscaling them to flac or wav would be a silly idea.

I don't think so. That part of "Shirley" (normal album version) at the end sounds like it was on the tape before the other tracks were recorded over it and when the recording stopped the rest of "Shirley" stayed at the end of the tape. One of the instrumental tracks sounds more a bit like "Brown Leaves" from 1978.

Thanks MrD I really appreciate your post and also thanks for your honesty. I am only trying to find what is out there that we don't know, and asking collectors to fill in the gaps.Sincere apologies if you thought this was aimed at you. It was intended to extract information from other sources.

Here are The Art Collins Tapes with the running times added - hope it helps...

A few corrections :

04-04 Collins 4 Track 04 Unknown instrumental = The Dog
04-06 Collins 4 Track 06 Tie You Up = tiny fragment of "Show Me A Woman"
12-10 Collins 12 Track 10 Rocker [= The Dog]
12-11 Collins 12 Track 11 Slinky = tiny fragment of "Show Me A Woman"

16-06 Collins 16 Track 06 Melobar = Show Me A Woman II
16-07 Collins 16 Track 07 Mick's Idea [= Melobar]
16-08 Collins 16 Track 08 Mick's Idea = incompl. In Your Hand
18-09 Collins 18 Track 09 Discovery Bar = I'm A Little Mixed Up I
19-01 Collins 19 Track 01 Everlasting My Love (Nanker Phelge) = A Different Kind

Re: Post: Art Collins Tapes
Posted by: wiredallnight ()

and:

05-10 Shirley is a part of the official "I've Got My Own Album To Do" version and does IMHO not belong to the Art Collins Tapes (see my post above) - can be deleted

17-17 Just My Imagination is a short fragment of 17-01 - can be deleted too

Good observation. I think that's the same for the various versions of "Slave" : same track with different speed.
