Voodoo At Halloween is in stereo and to recommend.
All Hallow's Eve is in mono only -> forget it!
I don't know Oakland Mixing Board

I always thought it was a bland lifeless perf... Maybe watching it eases the sense of boredom somewhat...

He did not ask for the performance but for the recording.

I had a quick listen to both "1994.10.31 ML 9512-13 Voodoo at Halloween" and "1994.10.31_TSD_Oakland_Mixing_Board"

Mixing Board is very good, but Voodoo at Halloween is better.

Some of it is pretty good .... "Beast of Burden", "It's All Over Now" , and as far as '94 performance of "Heartbreaker" goes.

Yeah, even though it's not one of the really great 1978 shows, it's still cooking - no contest

Erik, what's a great 1978 recording that's not Passaic, Lakeland, Atlanta, Lexington, Memphis, Buffalo, Detroit, New Orleans, Houston, Fort Worth, Anaheim or Oakland?

(If only there were better recordings of Atlanta and New Orleans...)

THANKS

Of course it's subjective, but I don't consider Lakeland, Buffalo or 1st Anaheim to be that great, performancewise.
But I do think New York City, Washington DC, Myrtle Beach, St Paul and Tucson to be real fine. NYC and Washington DC is probably the best "sounding" ones of them, but they're still "good audience" only.

Relix article on the 1978 Passaic NJ show. The style is sometimes dodgy but the details are good:

I need to brush up my 78 show.
"Funnily" they often gave poor shows in the Bay Area : 69 was plagued by tech problems. 72 & 75 were "nothing special" gigs (unlike the ones played in L.A.). Both 81 shows were pitiful ("thanks" to Ron who was fried on freebase).

Yes that's true. In addition to the technical problems in 69, it was simply too early in the tour, same goes for 72.

Imagine living in the Bay area, seeing Rolling Stones from 1969-1989, and the only "LA travels" one did was to the "video show" of 1975 and the "shoe show" in Anaheim 1978....one probably would believe Ladies & Gentlemen, GYYYO, LA Friday, Hampton broadcast, Atlantic City broadcast, and all of that were fake....played in the studio, or something. They surely were unlucky them bay-californians
