Bob Dylan
Wembley Stadium
London, England
July 7,1984

Hi Dylan gang,

I have decided to remaster this one.
Original master was too much treble-y, so i have done new EQ.
Also levels were not good, some tracks were much louder than others. I fixed that too.
In the end i fixed sbe.
Tape speed was o.k. so i did not touch that one.

Captain Acid, November 2019.

Thanks Captain, these new stereosystems, at least the one I have, doesn't have EQ options, like the old ones used to have, there's only the stupid "pop" "rock" "classic" "flat" categories. So - this will be neat.

Empress Valley nearly always downgrade the recordings before pressing them. If it wasn't for that, they'd be one of the very few labels that is still relevant.....if one can afford them

The remark applies to Tarantura too. Thye find exclusive recordings that were previously unknown and... they butcher them at the mastering stage! grinning smiley
It was heartbreaking to see TR release all these lovely audience recordings made by Japanese taper Mr Peach (the Mike Millard of the East... he was that good) and brickwalling them like crazy till they sounded like crap.

The good guys at Dime could have done a 100x better job at transferring these lovely tapes than the hacks at TR...

Yes indeed, the same goes for Tarantula, they are in fact even worse.
I was reminded of this yesterday, when I listened to "Live in Japan 1978 vol. 1". What a great recording, but so brickwalled and harsh. .....not a great performance either, compared to Europe and US 1978, but that's not the bootlegers fault

Yeah the best taper is powerless when recording a poor performance... Let's not wake up the dead but Freezer had that problem. grinning smiley
Louisiana shows were often considered "quickies" (show you play absent-mindedly before moving to bigger, larger, more important markets/towns like NY or L.A.).
Of course there's one glorious exception to this : the Stones gigs in Baton Rouge in 75! hot smiley

As well as New Orleans 1978!
And yes, especially the 1st Baton Rouge 1975 show is tremendous, for being an opening night. Plenty of mistakes, even by Jagger, but the energy is there

The EVSD prices for this set are unbelievable, if you can find one.

Thanks for the remaster.

Would be nice to see some non label factory pressed discs of this set available.
