Lol, it is IEM, there are just multiple IEM sources mixed. Not just a single feed.

Hoserama is renowned for quality IEM recordings.

OK maybe I'm wrong but all IEM Recordings I know dosen't sound like this. Xavel makes a bad job ?

Xavel pushes sloppy product, usually quickly mixed, often with incorrect receivers, and poorly mixed. They are motivated to sell as many units as possible, which setting iem recordings helps with that. But a finely tuned iem mix vs a sloppy mix isn't going to sell much difference.

That soundcloud link was actually an early incomplete mix. It's been polished up more since then.

8 channel IEM mix with a little bit of the daspyknows Schoeps audience recording add some ambiance to the final product. This is how these projects are supposed to sound. Good job by all involved (not just Hoserama and myself) to make this happen. No money is being made from this and no need for clown job remasters.

Technically 16 since the eight feeds are stereo.

I don't understand this hate.

My understanding is a bunch of remasters on this board have been poorly done and without the permission of the taper.

Daspyknows (and I) are not a fan of people who do sloppy remasters, yet think they're god's gift to audio. Learn the craft and keep some quality control measures.

But hey, to each their own. Quality is subjective sometimes. Doing it without tapers' permission is just a jerk think to do.

You didn't put the time effort or money into making a recording, Of course you wouldn't care. Its pissing in the trading pool. If you go swimming in a pool would you pick one with water or one full of piss?

I have to agree with senecastj and daspyknows. Why EQ and compress and step on the files? You are just adding more processing since your not even working from the original master files.

Xavel already does a lot of shoddy remastering too. Just seems like a waste to do work on top of that, unless there's something very specific to fix. I remember their 2015 U2 Chicago release had some horrible sibilance which made it unlistenable. But with 2 minutes of work, I tamed the sibilance and it didn't make the ears bleed anymore.
